A view from the ice, early morning. I drilled a few holes and set up.
When Mike and Gate came I surrendered the holes to let them go for the ice-carp.

Terrific! I'm very glad that Mike and Gate joined the club of the ice carpers. Neat. smile.gif

I would never have thought that the ice was still thick enough to walk on it? ohmy.gif

What is this weird carp Vinny caught? Do you have another pic with the full body of it?

Rob:
Actually that fish was caught from the bridge using my own Potatoe Bread Boilie.
The carp everywhere seem to like them. I keep a jug of them in my tackle bag and
I go-to them when I want to be different (which is most all the time). Last week I
tried my favorite EO but the carp were not avin- um. Scott and everyone else were
doin the business free-lining bread but that's not my bag. I did catch using pescaviva
and pips but I had to try my PB boilies. The carp liked um.
I think this is a picture of Gate with a carp he landed from the bridge on my 32" jig-rod
that I cast out with corn on the hook.

Wow.
Long day - good time! A hot shower was the ticket, I feel like a million bucks.
Gate & I had a great time. We set out with a goal of landing a carp through the ice and the Charles did not disappoint. I'm guessing at least 50 fish caught? Most by our freelining members Scott & Vinny - good show! Some interesting specimens caught with high drama on the roadways to boot!

Fran phoned me in the car to say the river had opened up a channel but ice was still safe on either side. (Hey Jerome - good thing I did not get your e-mail till I got home today or I may not have gone!!). Thanks for sharing the spot MA guys!

Here's another shot of one of the 2 "ghosties" Scott was referring to.
