So only 7 brave souls made it to our first (well, 2nd!) fish-in of the year in MA, meaning Fran, Vinny, Sarah, Dom, (airforce) Bob, Nick and myself...

Also Willy paid us a surprise visit, but was more focused on stripers!

We started by the Warm Water Discharge, which had been heavily prebaited by Domm in the past couple of weeks. Sounds that the fish werent't hungry any more... We couldn't get a bite with our 14 rods in the water!

So we moved to the magic spot of the winter, and things were slow as well... Finally Fran gave us the signal "CCCAAAAARRRRPPPP", and landed a nice one, followed by a 12 pounder. As you can see on the pics, moving patches of ice gave us a hard time...

Nick was quiet at the end of the bridge, but his set=up was well tuned and he landed two after a while. This one really didn't want to be on the picture... This was the blooper of the day!

Sarah was very patiently waiting for her first carp of the day. She had a brand new rod offered by Scott O, a reel offered by Nick, and I provided Powerpro, swivel and hook! And this team work did produce results with this nice 8 pounder, beautifully played by the master angler, and landed by Vinny.

What about me? I was starting to think I would describe myself as the King of the Dopey Anglers by then... I had found a way to lose 4 carp and not land a single one... Luckily a fifth one came, and it was a nice fatty, probably twelvish.

Then it was 1PM and I had to leave for a kid birthday party full of 8000 dominos!

So who can fill the blank? Who knows if Bob and Domm caught one? How many more mirrors? Any monster? I don't know... ohmy.gif

Yes, it was so much fun! I haven't caught any fish lately, so this was certainly a wonderful surprise. Today was a great day on many levels:

1. Seeing people I haven't seen for awhile.
2. Catching a pretty nice carp and unhooking it even (how many women can say that?)
3. My first CAG event was the GCO last year...so I've done CAG stuff for a year now!!! biggrin.gif

Thanks for the pictures, Jerome! Indeed a great day, even though a bit slow. It was very nice seeing new friendly CAG members. I was particularly happy about catching my first mirror Carp. Bob and Dom, how did you guys do after I left?
