Saturday morning...final sign up and draw for pegs for the 7 hour "10th" Chicago Carp Classic.

The PRIZE table

Section 1 - Des Plaines River, Joliet, IL

Saturday September 27 was a dry, cool and windy day - we dodged a bullet as a torrential storm front passed through the area the night before, only to clear before daybreak. That front did put a damper on the fish, making for a tough bite. Approximately 116 anglers from all over the country and Canada made the pilgrimage to partake in the 10th anniversary of the Chicago Carp Classic..

Bruce Mitchell (IL) battles his first as Bill Hodge awaits with the net and David Moore (OK) looks on..

David does the unhooking honors and readies the fish for weighing

Fred Rhodes (IL) mans the net for young..

Max Ford (IL) and his fine catch.

Robert Kraft (IL) and a mini 4..

..and a smaller 1-something! Maybe he should try his luck at Harrah's :)

Section 3 - Des Plaines River

Wayne Boon (CA) with a nice 14-2, fourth largest fish of the event

Jerome Moisand (MA) discovers what was causing those little chirps..
.. a wee mussel clamped around his bait!

One that got away - Isaac Peterson (MO) battles one while Paul England (WI) waits in vain T_T

New CAG Co-President Narda Walters (NV), CAG Ambassador Bud Yancy (IL),
Co-President Frank Walters (NV) and Paul England

Fish on for Jerome..

..with an assist from neighbor Jerry Brown (IL)

Jerome unhooks his nice 7lb 12oz fish

One last pose as Bud looks on..

..and the release

Fish on for Len Perdic (Shimano Canada), while Wayne waits with the net..

..success!

Isaac accomplished his late-in-the-day goal of not scratching :o)

Gary Gillis (MI) in Section 1 with a nice ##lber.
