Well, for the first time in my life, I got skunked! The best I could muster was being attacked by a leech (sorry, no photo).
No beavers either - rodent or human (they all wore bottoms).
Still a great day though - 10 hours on the water is always a good time.
Didn't do Tionesta Creek Friday night - just the Allegheny River on Saturday.
A few photos attached to please the voters - even the I HATE YOU's.
Next trip is scheduled for Aug 9 - 10 - Buckaloons to Tionesta (approx 30 miles / 2 day trip) hopefully the fish cooperate a bit more.
The "Polish Palace" - where every trip starts.......
Loaded canoe......
Tidioute Bridge.....
The river......
Johnny No Sleeves........
KingKool himself.........
More river, Tionesta Bridge and Tidioute sign..........
Thanks all who voted - hopefully some fish pix in the next poll!

go for it! sounds like western PA...what are the chances that you'll see charred Lebron jerseys caught-up in the margins
Yes sir, West. PA for sure.
Doubt we'll see any burnt up jersey's, although there are a lot of Ohesions (folks from Ohio) that visit this area...........

Will be canoeing the mighty Tionesta Creek this evening and the Allegheny River (probably Tidioute to Tionesta) tomorrow.
Your vote determines whether or not I post pictures (hopefully a bunch of smallies).
EDIT: put an upper case "T" on Tidioute (pronounced Tid EE oot)

Coolest looking fish I've seen in awhile.......no matter what it is.

Put me on the list for those that met Bud once as well.
My first Fish In, out in Milford, MI - Kent Lake - back in 1997???
Heck of a nice guy, took the time to chat with everybody.
He will be missed.

If I can recall correctly, i believe Louis (our beloved President) has a thread out there somewhere about Pinchot. Including a few decent (low 20's - I think) carp.
try the "search' function for "Pinchot"

No idea either.
Been out twice this year: session 1- 36 hrs straight session 2 - 5 hrs total: 41 hrs

. The problem with DEET and muskol (and several others) is that they also go by the name "fish-b-gone"
I have not had anyn issues withn this while using Muskol. Maybe if you have a ton of it all over your hands or something.......
-
Muskol - the best there is.
No fancy perfumes, etc - just pure hate in a bottle. Tingles a bit if you ingest it, but it really keeps the bugs at bay.

nice captures.

Wow! Who's the stud on page 133?
-
Potatoes.
Can't beat 'em!

A carp from Asia.
Let's be a little more PC here, would't these guys have to be called Asian American Carp?

King,
PMK may be right although the modeling looks more leucistic(sp) rather than melanistic. In either case it is probably unrelated to the tumor. Doesn't look very healthy does it? It's general its health is probably unrelated to its coloration. Just my GUESS.
Phone
I agree Phone, the "tumor" - not the coloration- is most likely the cause of the ill health of the fish, although it didn't stop it from feeding on tiger nuts!
Definitely an interesting catch...........

Caught this channel cat Sunday at a western, PA lake.
I have never seen a cat with this particular coloration (it also had a tumor/growth on it's inner lip).
For a @27inch fish, it was a lightweight - weighing in at just over 6.5 lbs.
See photos attached.
The last photo, is also a channel cat (from same W PA locale) that was just @ 30 inches, but weighed in at just over 12lbs.
Comment as necessary........
Going to send same photos to PA state fish commission to see what their biologists might have to say.

Hello all, my name is Shane. I've been fishing for a while, and really enjoy carp fishing. Many of my family members and friends fish for them as well. Every once in a while I fish at a pay lake in 84. I also participate in almost every competition I can get to. I mainly fish at Canonsburg Lake, but take trips up to Pymatuning. After browsing the forum for two days, I decided to join. I was suprised how much I learned just in those two days. I figured I can learn a ton more if I join, so I did. Can't wait to get out and use some of the information I gathered from this forum. In fact, I'm going out again tomorrow.
Any questions, feel free to ask.
Thanks,
Shane
Hi Shane - welcome to the site.
I haven't fished Canonsburg for carp in a lot of years. It's loaded with them, just not any big ones (or have you found some??)
20+ years ago, I saw a near 20 come out of the creek up above the lake up past the power station on Rt 19. Otherwise, I've never really seen anything much bigger than a 10. Lots of them in there though.........

Cool.
You down South? They're tropical aren't they?

Wonder if he threw it in the weeds to rot. Bass are not native to Japan.
