Lying about fish size, etc is one thing. A lie like this one - asking for sympathy, creating a different persona, etc., suggests something of a more serious psychological issue.
At 16 yrs of age, one should know better.
I feel sorry for the boy, but rest assured - I will no longer believe anything that he posts.
To all of those that fell for his little ruse and offered comfort, sympathy, etc.....pat yourselves on the back for being compassionate people!
SHAME ON YOU "BOB".

Surprisingly there is NO mention of this deadly accident in the Alexandria, MN Echo Press...........
(or maybe I was not able to successfully navigate the "archives" function properly)

I usually fish Renzie lake in McKeesport on the shorter trips. I will hit the "Allegheny" river for my longer trips (glassport or west mifflin area). I have done the "Mon" the "Ohio" the "Yough", Confluence, Tionesta, Conneaut Lake, Twin Lakes, and most of the area paylakes as well.
So to answer your question... everywhere! LoL
Ever pull anything big out of Lake Emilie (Renzie)? The post Gazette did an article a few years back when they drained it to repair the dam. I fished there once or twice afterwards, but never caught anything as big as the reports say.
Tionesta is one of my favorite spots (not just for fishing - I'd live there if I could find a decent job there). The Allegheny up there holds some nice carp if you can find the bank space. Supposedly Nebraska Bridge (over Tionesta Creek) holds some nice carp too, but I never saw any there that were of any size.

Welcome to the nut house.
There are few of us on here form the suburbs of Pgh, and another handfull within an hour or two drive.
Some of these guys fish together quite often. I'm sure they'll contact you once they catch wind of this thread.

I've had some success surface fishing feeder crickets from the pet shop - nothing real big took them, but it was something different.
Bad Joke of the Day - "always take some EXTRA terrestrials with you"
EDIT: replaced "using" with "surface fishing"

.........and here I always thought Cheat Lake was just for drunken swimming!

Welcome. I live about 20 minutes from you. I have fished with corey a few times. I need to swing out that way again soemtime. Give me a pm if you want to fish sometime..KingKool the fish are hungry. I believe they said come feed me.
I hear that......gotta see what weekend I'll be chopping wood in Tionesta......otherwise, I'm looking to be down that way any one of two of the last three weekends in Oct.
Will be staying local otherwise - Steeler home games take a lot of Sunday's out of the fishing equation for me.

Welcome aboard.
Lake Somerset holds some nice carp,
I plan on re visiting this area sometime in October and will be in touch with both Mt Man and AccodBW regarding the dates.
Keep watching the site for updates.............. -

Just from the photos, it doesn't look like it was attacked at all.

Interesting...but I have always said "Where's there's bass, you'll find carp."
This has always been an observation of mine, and until today, I've never heard anybody else use it.
Anybody else have thoughts on this?
FYI - I believe it to be a true statement using bass to determine the location of carp, but not necessarily carp to determine the location of bass.

Don't fish die after they eat corn?

Ahhhhh, Erie - home of the future US record carp.
-
As long as you are in your spot before they arrive, I see no problem with it.
Common courtesy would dictate "first come, first served" when fishing a particular spot. Tournament or not........

iwe put chiken wire over it until the koi get big enough.
be careful, them Koi need to be REAL big before they are safe from Herons.

I keep telling myself that one of these nights I'm gonna get out and go "Flattin" on the Mon, but I have yet to try it.
