  1. Lying about fish size, etc is one thing. A lie like this one - asking for sympathy, creating a different persona, etc., suggests something of a more serious psychological issue.

At 16 yrs of age, one should know better.

I feel sorry for the boy, but rest assured - I will no longer believe anything that he posts.

To all of those that fell for his little ruse and offered comfort, sympathy, etc.....pat yourselves on the back for being compassionate people!

    SHAME ON YOU "BOB".

  2. I usually fish Renzie lake in McKeesport on the shorter trips. I will hit the "Allegheny" river for my longer trips (glassport or west mifflin area). I have done the "Mon" the "Ohio" the "Yough", Confluence, Tionesta, Conneaut Lake, Twin Lakes, and most of the area paylakes as well.

So to answer your question... everywhere! LoL

Ever pull anything big out of Lake Emilie (Renzie)? The post Gazette did an article a few years back when they drained it to repair the dam. I fished there once or twice afterwards, but never caught anything as big as the reports say.

Tionesta is one of my favorite spots (not just for fishing - I'd live there if I could find a decent job there). The Allegheny up there holds some nice carp if you can find the bank space. Supposedly Nebraska Bridge (over Tionesta Creek) holds some nice carp too, but I never saw any there that were of any size.

  3. I've had some success surface fishing feeder crickets from the pet shop - nothing real big took them, but it was something different.

Bad Joke of the Day - "always take some EXTRA terrestrials with you" :D

EDIT: replaced "using" with "surface fishing"

  4. Welcome. I live about 20 minutes from you. I have fished with corey a few times. I need to swing out that way again soemtime. Give me a pm if you want to fish sometime..KingKool the fish are hungry. I believe they said come feed me.

I hear that......gotta see what weekend I'll be chopping wood in Tionesta......otherwise, I'm looking to be down that way any one of two of the last three weekends in Oct.

Will be staying local otherwise - Steeler home games take a lot of Sunday's out of the fishing equation for me.

  5. Interesting...but I have always said "Where's there's bass, you'll find carp."

This has always been an observation of mine, and until today, I've never heard anybody else use it.

Anybody else have thoughts on this?

FYI - I believe it to be a true statement using bass to determine the location of carp, but not necessarily carp to determine the location of bass.

  6. went down to my backyard to catch some carp. seen alot of fish splashing around. alot of nice ones too. i casted out a pike bunny just to see what would happed :D . this fish took immediate attention to it. after about a 7 minute fight the was in my net. and i notice her head was shaped pretty wierd. has anyone caught one like this :D ?
