  1. I think I've seen enough "30's" to know that one is totally NOT in that class, but far past it.

Kent, I have no idea how you measure, but a 42", 25lb carp would be roughly half the girth this one was. In all my travels, I have never seen a 42" carp dip below 31lb or so, and the ones that were low 30 were MUCH skinnier than this fish!

Get a look at the guy's hand next to the fish's head in the last vid on here. The head alone is well over a foot long! This is a giant fish (easily over 45lbs), and huge congrats to the captor (even though the 2 pics shown are of different fish)!

Ask Bri if you don't believe me.

  2. So you just admitted to misjudgeing fish , and a measly 25 so how could accuratly get the weight rite on a fish this size when you have never seen one ,

Hey buddy, you don't have a clue about what kind of fish I have seen in 38 years of carp fishing.

So if you add 6 inches on to my fish it adds 25 lbs? No way.

  3. While I did not fish, I had fun talking to the folks there. Horace and his crew are some of the nicest folks on the planet. They would give the shirt off their backs for you. (With Big Bird, that would be enough material to clothe a small country.:yourock:)

When God made Horace he broke the mold. If you ever just a chance to meet him, make sure you do, you won't find a kinder person on the planet.

Great seeing my very good friend Philip who put a lot of work into the event. David Dodway is not only a great angler but a great guy as well. I have fished with David for along time. He is always willing to share. He won that event because he works at his angling. He is not the guy who just sits there waiting for a fish. He works hard bringing them to him. :o

Now I just hope to get back to fishing myself with my other close friend, Bri.
