  1. Nicely done, Richard. I wish you the best of luck.
  2. Paul, when you have an item which says "Close out. 25% discount", and several options with a drop-off list, is the price displayed on the list already discounted or not?
  3. The following ad will be published in the coming NACA, but Bernie asked me to put it on the forum, and would like to request carp anglers to pass the word... Here it goes. If you are interested, please contact: Bernie L. Haines Golden Salmon Ranch 170 County Route 37 Massena, NY 13662 Tel: (315) 764-1324 Email: bernieh@carp.org
  4. Just spent part of the evening enjoying the DVD... This is undoubtedly a great work of passion and dedication to the sport. I especially enjoyed Dave's very clear explanations on rigs, Wayne's smile and sheer joy of fishing, the use of the fishing tank for demos, the breadth of coverage, and best of all, this nice Town Lake 20+ slowly swimming away at the end! Ah, I fell in love with this super cool carp! Yes, the beginning is a bit shaky (then the boys do get their act together), the story line is sometimes a bit erratic, and an introduction with some fishing and some simpler considerations would have been welcome instead of jumping straight into the Euro stuff, but for a first DVD, this is really a very impressive achievement, and a very enjoyable show. Seems to me this would make a great Christmas gift, or a great prize for a local event. So check it out at the ACS e-store (click here). You can also find it at Wackerbaits. Thanks, Wayne, Sean and Dave for a great display of love for the American Carp!
  5. Folks, if you want to publish an ad in the NACA, please send an e-mail to naca@carpanglersgroup.com describing your intent, and we'll take care of you, starting by sending you the ad rates. For some guidelines (notably deadlines), check this Web page.
  6. Richard, do you have a Web site of some sort?
  7. I have to say that seeing Wayne using all sorts of gear from Fox (which he readily admitted having bought at Wackers) made my day during the pre-CCC fish-in. You guys are cool, this is real nice to see. PS. now Paul, are those "bargain items" some stuff you bought from ACS recently?
  8. Just to avoid any confusion... the 2005 WCC is located in the US, and organized by the ACS. The previous WCC (the one Tim refers to) was located in Europe, and neither CAG or ACS had anything to do with it (except having some participants out there). Tim, I know this is obvious for you (and many other folks), but i thought this deserves a bit of clarification, notably for newcomers! As to your request of CAG helping, please send a request to cagstaff@carpanglersgroup.com with as many specifics as you can provide. Can't commit to do something useful, but we'll definitely think about it. PS. and hey, Tim, congrats again for your 5th place, this was quite an achievement.
  9. Good luck, Richard. You will accept an order from me, I hope?
  10. This is great news, Buster. I always thought that paylakers should represent one of the best (carp-oriented) business opportunities in the US, but this requires to tune the products to such a specific market, this seems quite obvious. You guys should be in a perfect position to do so. I wish you good luck in your endeavor.
  11. Just spent 20 minutes browsing. Very nice job, guys. Must be a ton of work behind the scenes. I'm impressed. And one has to admire a co-founder of a new tackle store who finds a way to publicly acknowledge competitors in very nice terms in his launch message. Class act, Wayne. So... Wayne appears to be the computer guy... Our special investigators provided a completly unofficial shot of the ACS office... I wonder who is doing what out there...
  12. Good move, Paul. I'm definitely a Powerpro fan. Just a warning: this thing lasts forever, so after the first order, you may have to wait quite a while for the next order from the same customer...
  13. These French b*** are always stealing from other countries what's the most beautiful...
  14. For the avatar, I'll do the resizing and e-mail it to you, Scott. Since I have the original picture anyway... I will also e-mail the high-def picture to Keith since you lost Internet access from your home. PS. Keith and others, Scott got yet another stroke of bad luck and his PC is dead (among other things), so reaching him might be a bit difficult in the next few weeks.
  15. You got it right, Keith! Champaign is even better...
  16. Ain't no carp in the Amazon river, Paul. Why do you want to fish out there?
  17. I'm so glad that Fox Int'l finally gave up on their offer to acquire Wackerbaits... I was quite nervous about the implications on the customer service if this transaction would have happened...
  18. More sponsors for the FFF 2005 would also be welcome, Keith... It would actually be quite nice to have one prize per sponsor for each award... Keith, did you speak with Alex about this idea?
  19. You should send an e-mail or PM to an ACS rep like Dave Moore... Try <Dave@americancarpsociety.com>...
  20. Er... Somebody paying more attention than me pointed out that what I suggested already exist... :D Go check this page. So... what can I say... Well done, Jim. I would just suggest that Telfish, Keith, Jbrown and whoever else starting to sell carp angling goods would request their link to be added to this page. And maybe also could I also suggest to Brian to add a pointer to this "carplinks" page in his "pinned" post about this new idea of a commercial-oriented forum? So that empty-headed guys like me will figure out the obvious more easily...
  21. Folks, reacting to Telfish post which got censored (for reasons I can understand!)... 1. many of us have been wondering at one point or another where to buy fishing goods in the US 2. seems that there are quite a few initiatives in this respect from various members of this forum So, in addition to this "commercial corner" forum, I was wondering if we couldn't have an easy to find Web page which would display names, URLs and e-mails of the various folks selling carp fishing stuff. Without any aggressive advertisement, just a bare list (content moderated by forum moderators & our Webmaster). I wouldn't put any restriction on it (e.g. NACA advertisement), the point is more to help carp tackle owners to promote themselves and to help carp anglers to find such stores. I am very convinced that easier ways to purchase carp angling goods would go a long way promoting carp angling in the US. Just an idea... I didn't bug Jim for a change to the Web site for at least a week...
  22. Thanks, this would be much appreciated.
  23. More sponsors for the FFF 2005 would also be welcome, Keith... It would actually be quite nice to have one prize per sponsor for each award...
  24. Would somebody bring a copy at the ATC? I'd be glad to browse it a little bit before (most likely!) making my mind on buying it...
