  1. I'm also not quite sure what to make of this. I haven't bought an awful lot from Carpkit, but when I did Simon provided an excelent service. So has every other vendor I have bought from in the US, including Resistance Tackle in the past, Wackerbaits and Big Carp Tackle. All very profesional with an outstanding service. Never had an issue. We don't know if the initiator of this post has had personal beef with the vendor, or something else entirely initiated the online dialogue. Or maybe Simon really messed up. Who knows. But either way, I am not a big fan of trying to burn a business online. It looks bad, it feels bad, it smells bad. There are better ways to handle this.
  2. CAG needs to help out the mayor asap and in a structured fashion: - Draft a standard letter for people to print and sign - Set up the online petition - Launch a media campaign raising awareness for the issue CAG needs to become much more active in Public Affairs Management.
  3. I would check if Sal, our NACA man, could help out...
  4. Looking very nice Barry!
  5. Excellent suggestion Dave.
  6. All yours to play with guys. Just think Diggs has a point and I would guess that the majority of the CAG members want to see a North American scene on the cover, with or without fish, I don't really care either way. It's a great opportunity for the CAG members to put themselves in the spotlight so to speak. I would try not to copy the 20,000 other European magazines out there. Dare to be different. But you guys are right, if no members submit proper pics it's a mute point anyhow. Members: It's your magazine, paid for by your membership contributions. If you want to be in it, be proactive and help out the NACA staff.
  7. Diggs has a point though. As to the struggle for content, quality content does not come in by mail. A post on the forum is also fairly unproductive. Content has to be proactively chased. A phonecall or a pm works wonders... Other than that, well done! Lovely pictures inside by the way...
  8. Andy, thanks for everything my friend. It´s been a great ride brother and I'm glad to have been part of it with you. I wish you all the best. And as you know, "mi presa es tu presa"....
  9. Dean, Just don't underestimate the workload. A printed Special Edition NACA is not the same workload as a regular digital copy. I suggest getting the content asap.
  10. That's disappointing. I think everyone would have been more than happy with 3 digital copies and one printed version. I know it’s a lot of work. Been there, done that. But having sponsors available and no one doing the work is a tough one. Huge missed oportunity in my opinion.
  11. Guys, I think we started a well received project last year with the printed NACA, Special Edition. I understand there might even be some volunteers again to contribute in the costs. Is anyone working on this? I think the members would be more than grateful for the 2015 Special Edition!
  12. Ah, the title is slightly misleading, but I am no longer a Director. Mods, be aware...
  13. Not sure, maybe one of them fancy perks for members only?
  14. Lol, you can come down here too Jerome. But with your camera. Got a bunch of 40's willing to pose for you. Thanks for stepping up J. You are a huge added value to this BOD.
  15. Don't worry Iain. You will be back some day. Just give me a call.
  16. Thanks guys. Andy, if you ever need anything, you know where to find me.
  17. Guys, this will be one of my final posts as VP and member of the BOD of CAG. Four years ago I decided to team up with Andy and try and turn CAG around. We were deeply in the red figures, the printed NACA was bleeding us dry, many members had left and satisfaction was low. I see a different CAG now and I can't express enough thanks to all that made that happen; Andy, Neil, Willem, Brad and Dan were with us from the beginning and later Santosh and Ed joined as well. What an absolute honor it has been to work with you guys. True professionals, even though we are all volunteers. I wouldn't doubt a second to work with you in any business and I'm lucky enough to be able to consider you my friends. Great work also by the State Chairs who helped without personal interest to promote CAG and carpfishing. A huge shout-out as well to Salvador Castanedo who has proven absolutely crucial in bringing back the NACA with his creative genius and tireless energy. But most importantly it has been fantastic to meet CAG members in real life (oddly enough I never met any BOD member other than Santosh ), discuss with you online, and with many I spoke on the phone also, discussing baits and strategies. This is what really made it worth it. Sadly enough the growth of my business doesn't allow me any more to continue my work with CAG. I have manufacturers, distributors, logistics providers, installers, architects and clients to deal with and with 500% growth this year, things have gotten a little out of hand. I think my family will be happy to see me a bit more also. I will stay on as a CAG member of course and hopefully will find some time to fish as well. Salt water is luring me, but carp fishing will always keep a special place in my heart. So count on me for sharing some fishing adventures! Good luck Bob and Iain! I'm sure you will make this CAG bigger and better. Saludos!!! Mario
  18. There you go Spoon. Finally a hard copy.
  19. This ex editor never uses chili powder. But it sure makes you think twice, doesn't it
  20. Finally. Anyone else got one?
  21. There you go Todd. One friend request on its way. But don't worry about it. I'm not sure many people actually actively use that function. Most people just come on here to chat and have a good time. Welcome on board!
  22. Anyone got the NACA yet? Nothing like snailmail...
