Lake Hefner huh?.. I fished the second cove east of the golf course parking lot, same as the boat ramp but opposite side.. Pulled the usual..blanked!!.. But there were 3-4 ft waves out of the North(top to bottom) I had a great laugh watching the chunk and winders manuaver around the lake.. Think it was about 4 years ago?...

I've been fortunate enough to travel around and do so many I don't think I can pick one? Not even sure I can rank them? So I'll be editing the post here probably..

That weekend Dave wrote about was a classic time and tough to beat.. Meeting new people like Dave and hanging with Phone Fred Timmy??.. Listen to Peter complain he was getting runs on his marker float rod and actually having me going in and find his rod because it got pulled in!!..That's right his marker float rod.. Not sureI ever laughed so hard on the bank.. Can't wait until next year...

Romania was a definite top one.. Hanging out in England, eating curry, going to pubs, getting baits and tackle sorted. Tal losing his passport!!.. It was good to show up and put USA Carp Anglers on the map.. Rest of the world knows we are for real.. Brian and I were 8 places behind Briggs and Paisley with 24 hours left. Our goal was to place ahead of them which we accomplished.. (23rd) Tim and Tal finishing 5th for Team USA was really cool..

Had a few good times on the St. L..

Sept '01/Fishing the St L the first time with Stew Mac, Brian, Craig, Jim West. Meeting up with Big Al and Mean Mike..classic time.

Aug '03Had a few good times on the St L this last summer watching the looks on kids faces catching carp was priceless.. Keeping Mack's tavern in business thanks to Big Al..

May '03Did a day out fishing with Bernie and did a bit of "Extreme" carp fishing for real..

Maybe this years highlight was the trip to Idaho and getting 70 mirrors in 70 hours with Wayne Boon?.. Luckily we did a video shoot for that so you guys can see it in a few months..

I about caused an international incident with some Russian anglers when they were determined to poach my swim in CA.. "Sean.. Get your knife!!"

Brian getting his first 30 after trying for so long at Hominy.. Had many memroable fish-ins and sessions on Hominy.. Heck I get to fish with BBC here..

Session when Brian and I were going to re-establish the new Texas record and getting it..34_10 Had several what would be great sessions on Town Lake since... but, it tends to spoil you. Still no 40+ though!!.. <_<

This last trip with Tal, Tommy Riley, Wayne, Jim, Joseph to WI post CCC.. Laughed 'til a cried a couple of times on that trip.. Seeing some lumps but not catching..Hey that's what keeps you coming back!!..

Also this year fishing with Paul Pezalla when he won Coon Rapids..Chalk one up for the CAG crew We were not crowd favorites at this event. Never been accused of cheating so much in my life

Had some great times in DC. Kerwin always shows everyone a good time.. Post DC at Orange session with Stew Mac and GB was a top session..

CCC is always a great time, and getting to see people.. Maize party at wackerbaits rocks..Paul does a great BBQ Had some good sessions on the harbors..

ATC watching it grow in 3 years time.. Keith and I had a great session Day 1 and managed a few last minute fish under the rod tips Day 2 to pull off a victory there.. Rather be lucky then good any day..

I just don't think I can pick one beacuse they are all special in their own way.. Not only the fishing has been a joy but just the hanging out with fellow CAGers. Made some really great friends I'm looking forward to even more great times..

Isreali carp are sold around here as bait. I think they tend to have a higher back then regular commons. Here is a pic of one I rescued..

Here is one of my favs.. Think it was around 20 lbs? Just an awesome scale patternfor a fully scaled mirror.

Exactly why you don't post or pre-draw swims. Everyone would leave the party to go pre-bait. Or "Swim Soaping" I beleive it's referred to may happen

Other things what would keep people or their buddies from prebaiting a swim for them? If they knew who was fishing after them in the peg? Or soaping? In this event there is a silght(1 in 50) chance they could be in the same peg the next day..

The method we used is very effective.

We draw for order of the draw Thursday night.

Friday morning starting with 1 unmarked envelopes are drew by the teams; maps, peg number, etc.

On Saturday the team that drew last(50) will draw first..

I'm personally one of those people who will push the rules as much as I can (i.e. Coon Rapids, MN) so I use that mentality in organizing/running tournaments

Hope that explains some of it and a good question for those who are attending..

All that said Brian may want to do exactly what you've suggested since he is in charge now..

On the mouth area 1 inch outside is the general rule..

So people should get them in time to meet the deadline of 12/31..

There will be most likely around 10 teams+ from the UK/Europe? Since UK baitboats are illegal here due to the FCC radio frequency? And the trouble of bringing them over? I've fished a couple of world carp cups... No boats? That is really the only No-No for the ATC.. Most the rules are pretty realaxed. Bring all the bloodworms you want, natural baits are allowed.. All other examples you give are accepted also..

I'm in LA tomorrow, for 5 days? You going to pop up and buy me a beer?..

Funny you caught those back to back.. I've seen that happen more then once. Makes me womder if mirrors don't hang out together.? Another example would be the mirror brace Richard S. had during the ATC. The dark one was caught again later but the lighter has yet to be caught again that I know of..
