Thanks for stepping up!
-
It became official today after a few months of getting the logistics for the most part ironed out and sponsorship squared away.
For those of you familiar with the event Al St Cyr won $250k and Scott Osmond won $25,000 in Texas this event will be very similar to that format.
This event will be limited to 100 Anglers.
There will be guaranteed payouts for
Big Fish
Big 4
Daily Big Fish
And a few others we'll announce at a later date with a total guaranteed payout in the $10,000 range. That could increase depending on the number of Anglers we get to enter the event.
In a quick summary and a rough idea for this of you not so familiar
- Anglers are allowed to fish as a team or as a single.
-You may fish where you want in any public area, when you want on the CT River.
-You may move swims as long you don't encroach within another Anglers restricted area.
Detailed rules will be posted on the CARP TS website in the future.
Entry Fee base will be $300 per Angler for the guaranteed payouts
An option Bonus payout of $100 additional to win $100,000 for setting a new official CT state record will also be an option.
A Special Thanks goes to Ted and Sally Carrier of Hartford, CT for stepping up to sponsor a carp angling event again. These are the same great folks that sponsored our TOC events a few years back.
Iain Sorrell, Ted and I have met with the CT DEP Fisheries folks and they are fully on board with this event as well. Using this event to help take carp angling up a few notches is their plan.
See you this fall in CT!

Thanks Bob and the rest of the St Lawrence for all your hard work. We only landed 6 fish out of 10 runs so we were extremely fortunate to come out on top.
-
At least 100 yards between pegs?
-
Great job Brian
-
Baited up this afternoon. I hope to be there around 4 to 5 myself on Friday.
-
Should be pretty close to the cars.
I have a 10 x 10 shelter we can set up unless the wind is howling!.
-
BCT is going to cover lake permits. So all you need is the OK fishing license. No special rules. Chumming and up to 7 rods allowed
Bring your shelter looks like rain.
-
Sure. We can do a $10 per person big fish pot if there is interest.

Just baited up the area we usually fish. Lake is down about 6-7' so there will be loads of open bank space.
I'll bait up again this week.

Nice session

I'll see what I can do Neil. Would make me weekend if you caught a mirror.
-
You're welcome. Congrats.

Hominy has a long tradition discovered by Jack Rowe in the mid 90's. It's not an easy place to fish, but has given up some quality fish over the years.
This pic of Bud back when he was still CAG Prez, guessing the late 90's. It was his PB at the time and weighed somewhere in the low 30's.
Hasn't been fished much the last few years that I'm aware of so who knows what will come out this year?
-
Neil,
That's great you and Carl can make it-
April 25th -27th I will pre-bait probably Tuesday & Thursday prior at least (I may even just stay Thursday night on if anyone else wants to come over Thursday.)
Most swims you fish out of the back of your car or close.
Hominy has a higher ratio than most places of mirrors.
Pizza place is in town 2-3 miles away.
I'll go over and pay a events permit covered by BCT for everyone fishing. All you need is your OK fishing License.
-
I'm sure once it gets closer there will be more details.
-
I think it will be pretty laid back. More along a normal fishin. Just show up and fish. I'll try and go over a couple of days prior and prebait up a spot or 2.
-
Nice job everyone.
-
Great venue, great local people and a great host will make for a great event.
Thanks Bob!
-
No pics of big D's breakfast burritos! Figured that was a top 3 of your trip.
Nice fish also.
-
I started fishing with Cosscast last year mainly because we had so many people asking about them. Great reel for the money at $100 from BCT.
-
Nice job John. I'll be back up there one of these days to get my 30.
Bye Guys & Gals
