Jerome,
Terrific fish, great story. Well done indeed.

See my updated post timed 10:48, folks....
Coming soon Dynamite Grits......Any news on Andy and Dennis.....using the same bait presumably?
-
Thanks Mark -- & I just got some more info:
Tom & Colin have had another 300Lbs 'by around 7a this morning, probably well over 1000 Lbs overall now.
JB and Angela have 17 scorers, including 2x20's & a 32.
Andy Phinn & Dennis have some 280 lbs.
I was talking with Andy, he had to go for his rods as we spoke - they are catching a lot of 'under 10's' as well....
-
That's a great update -- Know Colin was planning for a 'war of attrition' so hope they are pacing themselves.
Come on NC & Resistance Tackle!
Where's that leader Board update?
Tom/Colin went into the night with a large lead. They had well over 500 lbs with the second place team at about half that weight. The night will have brought lots of changes though I'm sure...

Go on Colin and Tom,
Keep these fish coming out, my friends!
-
Lovery fish, Jerome. Congrats from me, too. That big mirror looked special....
-
Well done AB --- excellent fishing.
-
Gentlemen,
What can I say? You must be absolutely flying after finding and catching fish of that quality - after trying and trying.
My profound congratulations. Astonishing!
Well done, Tennessee
-
I am very impressed, Angela. Now look as if I need to ask you, not John, to come show us how to catch 'em in NC.
-
Wonderful story, gentlemen... a great write up of a trip that makes any exploration we could ever do on unfished NC waters pale into absolute insignificance.
And what fish you found! I love the look of those big scaled mirrors.
I can't wait for the story of your return
-
Lovely mirrors. It's always very special to catch one in the snow. Well done!
-
Fen Drayton? I hear they have plenty of time to get that perfect sunrise/sunset shot

John
That's a long looking mirror. It looks cold, too. Well earned fish. I like the idea of the new K1 boilies, too.

Exiled,
No this was a water much lower on the radar screen. An 18 acre gravel pit not 20 miles from Rodney. 20 angler syndicate. Fish to 38 (these days) was 28 tops when I was fishing it. Pm me if you really want to know the name , I'm still for some reason slightly protective . I loved fishing there, many of the fish came out rarely of at all. It's significantly easier these days, my pals tell me.

I fished with 'Pinkie Pete' (Overend) Watts one or twice - ex bass player in Mott The Hoople - a long time ago in the old country.
(He used to paint all his rods pink - you - er - needed to see it!)
Dave Seaman was in the same syndicate for a while but I'm pleased (as a supported of the Arsenal's bitter rivals), never to have met him.....

I'm envious of Insteel's inroads into the steelhead. I used to be the proud owner of an Avon Royal Supreme - It made a great winter roach trotting reel. I gave it to a mate who did the ceiling of my house. He is now catching barbel (occasionally) or the Hants Avon with it. But I kind of wish I still had it to float fish here. Partnered with my 12 ft Eurotackle rod ex Nigel (but that's another thread.....).

I was looking at some players and promoting some players I spent time with Celtic and Rangers.
Top guy's
Any of them have left feet? Pretty sure Spurs are still looking for one or two in midfield
Wonderful pictures, by the way. I can almost smell the pike .....
-
Wonderful huge fish - probably much rarer than a US 50Lb carp?
Thanks for sharing and (Scott) for attributing.
-
I really enjoyed that Mario - a great fish and a fine memory. Thanks for sharing with us
-
Keith's absolutely right - it is a rather strange carp fishing chapter, of course, being GP. .
I'm not too sure that carp fishing got to him, somehow.......
Pleased to see that there are some other GP fans on this board.
-
Paul,
May I echo Colin's thought --- your story make me remember the excitement of a deadbait take on the South Kent Pike pits I used to fish back in the '80's, when a 20+ was the likely end product. Didn't happen very often though! Well done.
-
That's one good looking mirror. Nice story
-
Yes, I think I may be back (possibly a lot). Today restored my belief - almost lost for good - that good sized carp actually do live in these parts. My thanks to Limey for pointing the way....

Gordon,
Fantastic - you guys did really well to land those big tarpon as well as hook them. You must have done your homework. I may be even more impressed you got yourselves an Islamorada bonefish - albeit a 'small one'...I'd heard they all come with college degrees down there..
