Aside from the great loss of tackle the trip was a success. Soon someone will come up with some really supple wire that cam be put on a spinning reel. Then think of how many carp will be landed!!! Nice job lads. See you at Onondaga ?
Miguel, take a week next time, yes?

Terry,
Have you fished the river side of Wilson Hill Island? How many swims around there? I will be back up there in mid Sept. and will be looking for deep water near shore.
I've heard our boys are hammering fish up there now but the snags are driving them crazy!!

Carpist will be on the Larry near the dam starting june 7th.

Actually, both of the people are standing behind the fish and the woman is reaching forward to touch the rope. I think its a 40 pounder at best and just looks bigger because it's closer to the camera than the people.

More curiosity: Another " Syndicate " moment: Scott catches a 51 pound mirror carp at the ATC but the hook is in its neck . Keith is in the swim next door. The rule states "
·Any foul hooked fish will not count; must be hooked in the mouth area. He obviously did not snag it on purpose so why a no foul hook rule? At least there should be a clearer definition of what the " mouth area " is. If a fish is fouled and there is a disagreement about the mouth area does the hook need to stay in the fish and a steward called over?
I have always been of the opinion that less is best both in fishing approach and rule making. Other that banning Osmond from the competition ( he's is much too good ) I would not have any rules at all.

Since I will not be going to Austin this is none of my business but why a peg draw before both days fishing? Why not draw at the maize boil and post both days draw in the Hotel lobby for late comers to find? If it's a double blind draw and just a lottery thing one needs not be there to have a ( his or her ) peg pulled, yes? I am not in tune with this tournament stuff. Well, the draw by luck for swim part of it anyway. You don't think someone would sneak into their swim during the night for a " Syndicate " style bait up , do you?

Sorry, east of 128 does not count as New England. This is a " no pub " lake.
Perhaps in the spring we will give it up , after the 40 is landed. Then again , maybe not.
Had to sign a non disclosure agreement with the unnamed owner. Had to sign an agreement not to mention his name either and then an agreement not to mention that I signed an agreement with him, which I just violated. Confused?

testing. Trying to upload but the pic is hanging. Yes, it is small enough

I believe Richard's 46+ from Austin is the biggest. Are we counting fish outside the US of A ?

You guys are forgetting that there is a " no publicity " rule in California. You can tell people you are on the verge of catching a monster but after you catch it you can't say anything. I think that is so special. ( make believe there is a smiley face here )
-
So, if you blank on these monsters for , say, 5 sessions will you get off the " naturals " and try something else? What would be the next bait? Also, why is corn called a natural . I would expect a small fish or a clam would be more of a natural. Clam boilie, crawfish boilie?
