  1. Ha, I was right then . Seems that you and Pat Kerwin aren't the only ones who can recognize recaptures .....but seriously though, you and pat both have a supernatural ability to recognize recaptures from a mile away that I have yet to see another angler replicate
  2. This linear koi and the purple koi have my vote. This linear koi has a combination of traits that I didn't even know were possible in a carp. And how can a carp have purple colors ....absolutely amazing!
  3. Now that I look at it, this koi looks familiar ....isn't this the koi that's in Jerome's avatar? But looks like it grew quite a bit from when Jerome caught it?...if it's the same fish that is. Regardless....amazing fish!! Congrats Scott!!
  4. Wow, that's a wicked fish! Very well done!
  5. Wow, that's got to be the biggest koi ever caught in NA....
  6. Like Ian and Mario, I will disqualify myself The prettiest fish I caught from the early days during the winter of 2006 in Alexandria. The biggun from night fishing This one's not even a carp ....but I really like this picture because I'm fishing at Mark and Craig's favorite spot
  7. Sorry about that Pat . Below are pictures of the nicest looking carp I've been fortunate enough to catch 2 times. First in 2008 and a second time this year at a new weight of 45lbs-14 oz. 2008 2011
  8. Thank you. Actually, I was going to delete my comment tonight because after rereading your original post, it didn't seem like it was directed directly to me but you replied to it before I got a chance to delete it.
  9. Essentially, what you're saying is that, in your opinion, I shouldn’t have been the cover and that my article shouldn’t have been the feature. Your entitled to your opinion and quite honestly, I was probably the most shocked, when I discovered that I made the cover. I never thanked Bill and Stewart for doing what they did but I am very grateful and humbled by the opportunity to share my opinions, thoughts, and the little bit of my insights I've acquired over the years when targeting big carp. As for "special care" being given "to the selection of the article that will benefit from the color pages", I'm pretty sure Bill and Stewart did just that and didn't decide in a careless fashion, don't you?
  10. I've never participated in any CAG contest before because I only compete against myself but maybe I'll participate this year. I think I would have won with this fish last year if I had entered. I caught him on New Years day and depending on how wet the sling was, it would have went between 28 to 29 lbs. On second thought, once I enter something, my luck changes and end up doing terrible so maybe I won't enter so that I can continue to catch nice fish. But on the 3rd thought, I will try to go fishing on new years day and if it's interesting, I'll try to write something.
