Great job guys. Important for kids involvement.
Incredible how Hamilton gets involved. Fishing must be great.
Wished it wasn't has far.
I would say it comes 2nd to the St Lawrence in popularity.

I love breaking in new swims. Especially when you get results like that :swimminfish:

Some fine looking fish, Rebel. Don't worry about the hook. Just use it as a 'wirthy pool' rig

Hello and welcome.

Hello All
I want to announce our CAG summer fish-in to be held at Pier 4 Park in Hamilton, Ontario on Sunday, August 24th. The official start time is 8AM. Ending 4PM. I'm sure some of us will be there earlier and staying later. Medals will be awarded for the 3 carpers with the most carp caught from 9Am to 2PM. I will endure to have hot dogs and pop. I want to point out this is not a match, derby or tournament. This is social event based on having fun, meeting new and seasoned carp anglers as well as showcasing carp angling. This is a free, family based event open to anyone regardless of your fishing skills or if you are a CAG member. Parking and bathrooms are near by. Contact me for more info.
Cheers,
Mark

Great day on the bank!

The little white guy on my left shoulder would have suggested I handled it like that. The red guy on the other would have probably prevailed. You handled it well.

By the way....I lost a spod on Lake Erie. If any of you guys find it please let me know.

After Dinner Commons On The Float
in Ontario
Posted
Hello!
Last evening I went for a quick session after dinner. I brought my centerpin/ float combo along in the hope of tricking a feisty carp or two.
I set up with a size 6 wide gape hook. Eight pound mono hook link. A small, in-line barrel weight. A sliding, in-line waggler ( 5grams?). My mainline was 12 pound mono.
I fished at around 3 feet depth. I put one piece of soft maize on the hook and put a few sling shots of boiled maize around the float for freebies.
I didn't take long to bank my first. There was no messing around with the float. It just went 'thunk' right under resulting in this prime common.
I was catching them on a consistent rate during my short session. Nice to get into a number of small, scrappy commons on the lighter gear and playing the fish on the centerpin reel.
I ended up catching 6 in total. Three of them were just after sunset.
Cheers, Mark
