  1. There is two ponds in Lincoln Park! South pond is by zoo and farm while North pond is where there's fly fishing club years ago. That is both ponds closed to fishing. I think for restocking to give fish time to grow but maybe closed forever for safe or people pollution water. Long canal from Diversey Harbor should be open!

  2. Great catches, John! Thirties aren't easy around Chicago. Well done! --Frank

I agree but I noticed that Carp get bigger and bigger than ever before! I remember years ago that 20 lbs is not common until the water is more clean than ever before and IDNR survey that there is 76 kind of fish in the river and canal. Plenty of food as zebra mussels, snails, crayfish, clams and small fish for Carp! Many miles without a dam and plenty of room so I am sure that 40 pounds is out there!

  3. Thanks, John. Parking is up to $35 for a day for using the lots on Cannon. That's why I get a zoo membership each year, and I'm money ahead after a couple sessions at the lagoon. However, you can park on Stockton for free after droppng off your gear.

I don't know if they'll be any Bloomington fish-ins, but if there are, I would guess they will be posted. Take care. --Frank

Thank you for let me know.... up to 35 dollars.... WOW! Nothing is free in Chicago! I went to the Zoo long time ago and free parking! Years ago I can park right under Lake Shore Drive bridge and walk to fish the Chicago River. Not anymore! Chicago knew that lot of tourists come to Chicago mean more money in their pockets!

  4. I like Adi corn cans because its cheap and more sweet! Open all cans and pour in small bucket then use it for chum and bait. I never bring can to lake or river because one time sharp cut my finger so badly! If you bring cans to water and make sure to take all with you home! I don't want pollution!

  5. some question - are the dates should be in sep only ? early in june/july be a possibility ?

we some members here are discussing to put entry for MN ..

personally i wish the CCC happens in not popular states - you have tons of carp anglers in IL .IN,WI .. should we think to bring it to a different state and give carp a little publicity locally .. that being said anyone can propose venues but hosting this be a big effort - preparation with lot of personal time investment ...

i would like to know some info so we can discuss locally and see if its doable before putting an entry ..

Is this to happen only in Sep or can be done early June/July ?

MN got one Rod Rule - Im sure that will still keep you very busy at some places here..

NO Chum Rule - If picked rite month say june/july you dont need to chum or prebait at places we have in mind.

Yes, time for other state! Too much carp pressure in IL and I heard good in CT. Minnesota is something different and first article about carp fishing from In Fisherman Doug stange is in Minnesota so maybe contact him.....?

  6. Baldwinsville! Someone build a bridge between CAG and the WCC...best tournament/high pressure venue we know of in my opinion...even when it's rough there it's better than most other places...and when it's good it's brilliant!

We finished in ELEVENTH place in the spring...with ten fish averaging 24lb+....think about that!

Wow! That's a lot over 20lbs! Whats the biggest?
