  2. the raffle is still being worked on, not sure what we will have though. As far as kegs we were talking about getting a money pool together for a keg for sat night. I bet if we got one on thurs night it would last through saturday with only 30 something people drinking it

  3. park at the far corner of thr ball fields on pleasnat valley, go under the road and there is a concrete landing with rails about 4' high and is up against the dam pretty much

  4. Brian -- Not much good for those of us 'bad boys' banned from there -- can't read it

I met up with Scott (evil) yesterday on Lady Bird for a short session. The actual reason of the trip was to meet up with Keith (capnwhoopass) to pick up my new rods(!!!). They are B-E-A-U-tiful!

Anyway, I got to the swim a little after nine, made up some grits pack, threw out a paylaker bait (I'm going to use at least one rod in a 'traditional' paylaker style; simple packs based on water temperature, puffed corn as the hookbait on a 1/0 eagle claw hook), cast about 25 yrds out. Then I rigged up a euro-setup with a Tres Flores 16mm Reaper boilie, Scopex flavored, topped by a single piece of Enterprise popup maize with a semi-fixed 3 oz weight. This I cast about 70-80 yrds out.

As I fixed up my second rod, about 5 minutes later, my first rod's alarm started beeping with a drop back and all went quiet. I lifted up and started reeling in until I felts some weight and the fight was on! This is my first carp of the year, 23 lbs even:

Soon after that Scott had a run, banked it, and then another run! I _still_ haven't gotten my second rod rigged!

Finally, rigged my second euro-rod with a Tres Flores 16mm Addict series boilie, nanshe flavored, and knocked it out about

70 yrds with a bit of method. Nothing happened for another hour or so, so I went back up to the car to get my ultralight rig set up to catch some sunnies.

Soon, though, my 'new' rod beeped a couple of times and then just took off. This girl had some weight on her! After a couple of minutes, though, the line went slack - the hook pulled! I think I must have been putting to much pressure on her, afraid of her finding a snag somewhere...

The boilie and hook both still were ok so I applied a bit more method and threw out again.

In the early afternoon Scott's wife and step-sons showed up to bring lunch and hang out, and I went back to the creek side of the peninsula and tried to catch some more sunnies. I heard a bit of a beep, Scott yelling that I'm having a run, and so I rush back to my pod and lean into another scrappy carp; this one I let have more free range and she went about 50 yrds up the bank before I was able to coax her back to us and into the net.

Scott had another catch a few minutes later (it was apparent the the carp were running in pods and that our baits were near enough to their paths to get their attentions) and then we settled down for another couple of hours before it was time for me to pack up. All in all, not a bad day!

I caught 4 fish total yesterday, for over 80lbs. Nothing bigger than 23 but they were fighters. My youngest son had a run but pulled the hook. All in all we had 8 runs , 4 for me, 2 for Brian, and 2 hook pulls. Great day on a high pressure blue bird sky day. Didn't see a single rowing boat till after 5.

Here is my biggest of yesterday @ 23lbs even. I didnt weight two others but they were def 20's

  5. there won't be an official list per say cuz it could change on a daily basis.

The Gazebo and Red Bud will def be pegged for sure. The Dam is out unless we get 20 teams. Some questions have come up about the WWD and WWD2 , those will be up in the air esp considering Mike getting a 35 there last week.

  6. you guys can talk all the smack you want but experience and the right bait will win the tournament. I've been dumping the right bait in the lake all winter and will all the way up until the tourney and if you don't have the right bait you'll be waiting a long time for a run

  7. So the casulo hotel screwed us on our block of rooms and a lot of people were unable to get their rooms. Due to their negligence we moved the host hotel back to the Wyndham that we used in prior years. Sorry for any issues this may have caused.

  8. ok guys, to put it bluntly we got screwed on our block of rooms at the Casulo hotel. He was unable to give us a single double the nights we wanted at this point. Those who have reservations need to cancel them since they did not keep up with their end of the agreement. We could try and work with them but they were trying to put 2 men in a single king and i didnt think that was going to work. I don't have any faith that they will correct this situation so we need to cut our losses now. I already have the new hotel lined up just waiting on the group code. We are returning back to the Wyndham hotel that had the casita rooms out by the pool as well as standard doubles in the main building. The dbl is $99 and the casitas are $119 per night. Once I get group code i will make a group post and personally get with everyone to make sure they know the hotel is changing and to cancel if they actually got a room at the Casulo. sorry for any inconvenience.

  9. Who hasn't reserved their hotel room at the Casulo Hotel yet? I just found out that they are saying they are already booked and don't have any rooms left and only 2 people have made their reservations? I am going to try and get this straightened out since we were given until the first week of march to make our reservations but it seems there was some miscommunication.

Post up here who has reserved and who still plans on staying at the host hotel
