  1. LOL . No, Brian--Carp King is determined by biggest fish captured, unless CAG tradition dictates otherwise. Anyway, my vote is for Amos to three-peat!

BTW, I now see 11 Illinois anglers registered. That's over a third of the list. Nice work, Illinois. Cory's not yet on the list, but he'll be there. That's 12 for Illinois! :yourock:

    Thanks for the vote Frank

  2. Hello All,

This is the first time i be participating in fishing event , so kinda very new here ... i got couple of quick question .. will be of help if someone can chime in..

my fishing setup is quite simple ..

    * Do i need pods for the rods ? I did google these are quite expensive for my pocket .. - i been using 3$ rod holder from walmart . I belive i can still use this unless im fishing from hard surface ..?

    * I think i will need an non resident fishing licence ..

    * I fish with 8lb braided line here - any recommendation for main line .. pls..

This event surely be a good learnign experience for me and chance to meet some avid carp anglers ..

    Thanks

    Jaffar

It is a hard surface there is grass behind it but that puts your rods back a bit

You will need a non resident License

    Your line should be fine

  3. I am having a major crisis over my name, its Phill, not Steven (or Steve) Davies. My parents played a cruel trick on me by putting my middle name first on my Birth Certificate. It has caused me chaos all my life...LOL

Did I read somewhere no catapults are allowed, really?

Humm, guess I may need bigger feeders now......

I changed it sorry it was sent the way I posted it

  5. Bill, This is my thought, I feel that we should go with three since that is the number allowed in Indiana. Just my thought. We went with three the last time it was held in Indiana. I'm willing to leave the decision with the CAG President.

I spoke to Santiago today and this years CCC will be a two (2) rod limit. Any questions please contact him.

  6. Some more questions...

Is it a walk-off peg draw, or a blind draw? Will there be an online peg map before we get down there?

How many rods can we use?

    Thanks!

And btw, I plan on fishing the Sunday one-rod contest as well! :)

Indiana has a three rod limit and It will be a blind draw There are 75 pegs here along the river I will try and post the map later

  7. Anybody wanting to buy, sell, or trade carp gear at the CCC in Indianapolis there will be a table set up in the sport mans hall for this. So bring your stuff and get it sold. Starts September 27th thru Sunday the 29th 2013

  8. A few question, as I will be registering shortly and looking forward to the event.

How deep is the river, is it pretty standard? I know some places take distance, others it is less important.

How swift is the average flow? Can 1oz leads be used some days, or do I need 8oz and stiffer rods.

Basically, do I have to bring euro and paylake gear and adapt on the fly, or can one be ruled out by conditions.

I will be arriving later on Thursday night and doing the Friday/Saturday/Sunday events. I might as well do bivvy town if others will be there to socialize as well.

In most cases 2.5 or 3.0 leads hold pretty well. This river is not deep. The southern end is deeper than tha North. There is everthing from sand bar to deep little pockets, But as I said it is shallow.
