As I am sure you all know, I have had some ideas for future sections and stories for our magazine. Well this post is no different. I'm sure you all know CAG has had some money issues lately, and is now on the upswing a bit. Well our next NACA issue is going to be what we call a "throwback issue", basically meaning its going to be printed in all black and white Gloss thus saving us a bunch of money AND taking us back to the days where it used to be. Now not to confuse anyone, the next issue coming out is the Winter issue, that one has been sent to the printer. This next issue I'm speaking of is for the Spring Issue. Now for what I'm looking for, I would like some stories from back in the day. Something about how you began carping. Or maybe a story from when you were a child fishing for carp with your dad or grandfather. Whatever you have in mind will work for me. Also what I would really like is some OLD photos. On a separate thread I am going to have a "guess the fisherman" contest. What I would want from you, is to send me a photo of you from back in the day holding or near a fish, It doesnt have to be a carp just something generally related. What I will need from you is this: Send me a photo VIA email from my link at bottom of signature, Picture with your name and forum name and your age at time of photo. I will then make a post with all the pictures and we will have the members and guests here of CAG discuss who they think the photos are. I will come up with more details for people to be able to guess who is who. Now time to get your thinking caps on.

Jerome, Well hopefully this is something that will work out, basically, my idea is more geared to those wifes or others that do not partake in the fun that we all love, if it only works out for one or two issues i'm ok with that, I am basically working on giving people ideas on some stories to submit to me. I would love to see a story from your wife, as you have been involved for a long time. I am sure she has some really good stories.

That's how this fundraiser should be done.

I wanted to let everyone know, that I have been thinking about the NACA non stop for the last six months now. One thing that someone wanted to do, was send me a story written from "the wife". I immediately thought, "WOW, WHAT A GREAT IDEA", as my wife has many many things to say about CAG and carp fishing in general. Most of which I cannot publish. So here is my thought. I am thinking about having one quarter, or one edition/year, with a story written from a wife, girlfried, mother, whatever. Someone that is your other half that sees what you go through throughout the year. Maybe it's about things you purchase, or the dying need to boil over the stove for hours and hours on end, maybe its the undying need to charge hundreds of thousands of dollars in, as my wife calls it, Crap. Whatever you want, as long as it's written by "the other half". If this goes well, I may consider having one story an issue. I have one being written as we speak. Hopefully others will think this is something of interest. so please if you have a woman, or someone in your life that would be interested in writing a story for the NACA please submit to me at your convenience. I would have them posted here for vote, but, getting them from here to me is sometimes difficult, and also, I have heard it sometimes will make people not send one in if the first one to submit has a really good story. It is best that I receive all the stories, then the BOD will vote on a top three, and then we will put those three on the board to vote.

This is something that will happen. I am going to have a full section about cabin fever.

Well after much thought, discussion, and even more thought, I have come up with something that I hope will interest many of you to compete for a chance at having your mug shot or your favorite picture on the cover of our NACA. Do I have your interest now? So here is what I am proposing. Any of you can submit me your story with pictures from this date till March 5th. Any story you would like to write me. Here are some ideas: Cabin Fever stories, what are you doing during your off season? Are you surfing the net constantly? Are you cleaning gear, ordering new stuff, site seeing and doing some new water recon missions? Or are you fishing for something else other than carp. Are you spending a ton of time with the family as you know you will be neglecting them for the next six months or so? Anyway, as you can tell, this can be any story you want, about any subject, if you submit it to me before date mentioned above, and your story is the winning story, you will get your photo of choice on the very front cover of the spring naca. As well as printed inside the magazine. (we reserve the right to decline and ask winner for a different photo) Please keep in mind this is a carp magazine and your photo that you choose should be "somewhat" related. The main reason for this Idea, is I have had a certain few people request the cover shot, well now here is their chance to win that luxury. There may be other gifts donated for the winner before the deadline. All stories will also be considered for submission to upcoming NACA'S Btw, I will edit all stories, so maybe your not the best writer, maybe you didnt get straight A's in spelling class, THAT'S FINE, MY JOB IS TO CHECK AND CORRECT YOUR STORY. so let the stories begin!!!!!!
