Ol Captain

I grew up in a wonderful home in Jacksonville, Florida. My father was 51 years of age when I was born and my mother was 40. I have one brother 6 years my senior who has always been very supportive of me. I also had a very Godly maternal grandmother who lived with us. Grandma Long had a greater influence on me than anyone in my life. She had been a school teacher as well as a Sunday school teacher. She was 62 when I was born and we buried her just before her 102nd birthday.

I graduated from high school in 1970 and then had the privilege of going to Berry College in Rome, GA. There I met Ramona who has been my best friend and wife for the past 39 years. We graduated from Berry in 1974. In the summer of 1979 I was presented a Master of Education degree from Georgia State University in Atlanta.

Ramona and I are both retired teachers having put in 30 years with the same school system.I am currently working PT at the Manheim Georgia Auto Auction here in the Atlanta area.We have two wonderful children. We also have four beautiful grandchildren. We are still teaching in that I teach a Sunday school class and Ramona teaches some Ladies Bible Studies.

I stand with Paul who in Romans 1:16 said "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek."
