Does anyone know when the prizes will be distributed? In the past it was only like a few days and points were updated in my BCT account. I haven’t seen or heard anything yet.

Amy just waiting for Zach at BCT to get accounts updated. Hopefully won't be long. I'll be getting Regional awards sorted after Jan 1st as any photo orders at this time can be tough over the holidays.

I miss Horace (and his dog Max, gone to Carphound Heaven by now), I miss Phone, and I miss seeing the pictures of monster fish Scott the Big Carphuna posted.   There were lots of wonderful people whose names I can't remember.  Oddball and Kyle Kypka would be middle-aged now.  Does anyone remember how they fought over Bush v Kerry in 2004 before either of them were old enough to vote?

I would always like to see more folk on the CAG Forum (which is now exclusive to members only) but many over the years, like Horace, are now on Facebook or Instgram.

CAG has its own Facebook page with over 4,800 members https://www.facebook.com/groups/carpanglersgroup plus as you say there are also many other locally focused or  specialist groups that effectively compete with the CAG forum. Much has changed from the original CAG Compuserve days.

There is still some good dialogue in the members only area as well as the Big 4 posts etc but it would be great to see more!

The membership package was tempting at one time, but it was scaled back about the same time parts of the forum became exclusive.

What do you think changed in the membership package? We've always included some basic tackle for beginners, a printed magazine, stickers etc.

Who is our Draw Official ? Do anglers need to be traveling together to qualify for fishing adjacent swims ?

    6. If two anglers, as a result of travelling together or a requirement for extra assistance, need to fish adjacent pegs then they must notify the Draw Official no later than the evening BEFORE the peg draw.

Get in touch with Barry Howard.

Amy. Where do I find the logo to print

The logo will be available for printing or downloading late on the evening of Sept 30th. See Rule #8

    8.     The Fall Big 4 2021 logo will be available for download in a separate thread just before the start of the Competition (just before midnight on September 30th).

  6. This is how your Big 4 Capture Post should look!

*** Please note the photo clearly shows the Big 4 Logo (which will be posted just before the competition starts) and scales used to weight the fish positioned in the FOREGROUND of the picture. The fish is also being held over a mat and square to the camera (i.e. not at angle or from above or below the level of the fish). The anglers face is also clearly visible. ***

Any additional Big 4 Captures you simply add by clicking Reply to this Topic

  7. CCC 2021 Covid Guidelines

In an effort to ensure everyone’s safety while competing at the CCC 2021 event and especially during social gatherings such as the dinner and award ceremony we would ask everyone to respect the sections of the New York State Guidelines as outlined below:

Governor’s Office Releases Updated Food Service Guidance - June 9, 2021
Today, the Governor’s office released the updated guidance for food service establishments operating outside of New York City.

    • The lifting of all social distancing and capacity measures for vaccinated individuals at bars and restaurants.
    • Individuals who are unvaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status are still required to wear masks and socially distance.

If you are not vaccinated or travelling from a high-risk area or may have been in contact with someone who has recently tested positive please consider getting tested for Covid-19 within 72 hours before coming to the CCC 2021 event.

Many pharmacies (CVS, Walgreens, Walmart etc) offer rapid testing (usually free for both insured & uninsured) or you can use a service that visits your home or work such as www.beepermd.com which offers a rapid antigen test for $30

Thank you for your consideration in helping to protect both yourself and others.

  9. Event runs from October 1st to November 15th 2021

    Discovery MO carper boat.jpg

    Details

While many CAG events are based on fish size and number, Discovery Month is based on Writing, Photography and Documenting a carp angler’s success or even, dare we say it... the occasional failure!

That’s because behind every fishing trip is a story!

A Discovery Month story should highlight the adventure and experience of carp fishing rather than a list of the fish that were caught.

Discovery Month is a FREE to enter competition. You do not need to complete a registration form but you must be a CAG member. You just need to go out and fish a new venue (new to you) and report on your experiences (for example what you learned, what you did that worked or did not work, any fish captures or not, why you chose this spot to fish and so on).

Rules will be posted in a separate thread but remain the same as past years.

Discovery Month runs from October 1st until November 15th 2021. Only stories that took place in this time period will count.

Ideally, contestants will start to post their experiences from anytime up to Midnight of the end date.

A separate thread will be created to post reports and experiences.
