  1. some of the pictures i have recently seen on facebook of paylake carp makes me truly believe it is worse than bowhunting. i mean if the carp is dead its no longer suffering right?. the state of some of these fish is unbelievable. dragged around in buckets and poorly constructed nets, irresponsible fish care, over stocked garden ponds of stolen fish, makes a mockery of the whole sport. i know one major european carp company that recently snubbed the usa market because he saw some paylake pictures and described it as "barbaric", and wanted no part of it. and i cant say i blamed him. the sooner they are eradicated the better. they deserve the same treatment as bowhunters in my eyes, unless of course the individuals who run and fish these places themselves are willing to advocate for the catch and release sport most of us respect. there are a few out there doing that, but not enough.

  2. i am seeing if anyone is interested in a central PA (near state college) mid week fish in late april / early may.

the reason for choosing mid week is 1. some people i know in PA (myself included) have days off during the week. 2. the location i am selecting is probably no more than 1.5 acres and so 6-8 people would max the venue out. ideally i want it to be a smaller event on purpose.

the venue is highly productive, fish i have caught and seen are singles and doubles. relatively easy to fish and although the fish are small they are in mint condition, and a few mirrors are present. this location is great for trying zig rig fishing, and i will happily help out anyone who wishes to try this method out.

Tuesday or Thursday would be the days i would be targeting so let me know.

Due to small size of the venue i would like to suggest a two rod limit (unless we have a real small number of anglers). Also because this is a venue i fish a lot and really want to keep the fish pristine i want fish care to be bang on. if you don't have a mat i will lend you one, if you don't have a soft mesh net i will lend you one.

  3. I'm a slack line fan, but here in North America the fish are so unpressured and easy to catch you don't need to worry about line being out of sight too much, one benefit of tight lines is line bites will tell you if your on fish or not

  4. And define swim jumping? Visiting the swim once when some clown posts a big fish or driving 16 hr round trips ten times a year over a two year period at weekends to fish 36 hrs??? I'm done with this conversation guys, misinformed and frankly boring. Have fun with your porky pies.
