Looked out my bedroom window this AM & saw this doe with a hole through her tenderloins. It's archery season here & it looks like an arrow passed right through & left a gaping hole. Also looks like it was hit from the ground & not from a tree stand. The deer seems fine though & will probably survive. They are resilient creatures. Chit happens! Video is very grainy on the close up, I was shooting the vid through a window.

Nice going! Fall can produce some great fish. The best day I ever had was in mid October when I landed 22 fish that had a total weight of 436 lbs. Winter certainly shuts down the carpin here when the lakes & rivers ice over & that's when I send all my reels out for cleaning & maintainence.

thats a good lucking spot nice fish. on the video you caught a fish around 11 how often do you rebait? you guys did great
I try to rebait about every hour or so because I'm thinking the small fishes of all types will eat up the contents of the PVA mesh offerings.

Any time your arm is sore from catching fish, you had a great day!

I fished with jiggerJim again yesterday. We fished a different area on the lake. We landed a total of 12 fish. One of them was my new PB for mirrors. My previous PB mirror was 17 lbs. The new PB is a little over 22 lbs & a gorgeous fish. My PB common is a 40 lb 5oz. We had two fish over 20 lbs so that new spot really paid off. Jim left at 5 PM & took the bite with him. I stayed 'till 6.30 & didn't get another hit.

One fish is always better than none & that capture is a dandy! I like the shore line pic with the rod set up.

I have to agree with Jerome even on the smaller lakes. I have been fishing on very calm days when the bite was slow but when the wind kicked up the carp went crazy. I also think the stirring up of the bottom has a lot to do with it. looks like the rest of your day was good.

Thanks to all for the kind words. We always have a fun time when we fish even if we blank.
Jerome....We are fishing a state park in Luzerne county.

Are the weeds growing from the bottom or have they floated in with wind or currents? Just curious. I had a spot picked out but was told that the weeds were growing within a foot of the surface.....in about 8 feet of water.
The weeds are growing up from the bottom & also floating on the surface. There are mats of floating slimy pods pushed up against the shoreline & clumps of the stuff floating all over the lake. The weeds growing up from the bottom are long stringers & what we used to call pickerel grass. Right now bottom fishing there is a waste of time.

Fished the Pipes yesterday & found the lake choked with weeds. Of all the years I fished here there has never been a weed problem. I fished there a few weeks ago & there were zero weed growth. I don't know if it is from the very hot days we have been having & the heavy rains along with the heat but I do know that I will not be able to fish there any more this year. I can only hope they will not be bad next year. This lake is only 13 miles from my house & usually I do fairly well there.

I fished a local lake 8/4/16 & ended up with 17 fish. I had one real nice mirror in the bunch & broke to 20 lb mark with a 21 lb & a few ounces so it was a pretty good day. If you look at the part where I am holding up the mirror you will see my other rod behind me moving. The mirror was part of a double & was the 21 pounder. I always put in that rod holder because most of the time I fish alone & when doubles happen, that rod holder is my fishing partner.
I have a new video camera & had some trouble getting all the clips to load so hence the late post. Also the LCD screen is hard to see in the bright sun light so that is why I am poking my big head in to see if it is recording.

I fished a local lake here yesterday for 12 hrs & got blanked. I was a little bored on the bank so I shot a short video of some catfish that had just hatched out. I wanted to see if my new video camera would capture them.

Fished the North Branch Susky with JiggerJim yesterday. Total fish for the day was 12 landed. I got a new video camera, a Sony AX 53, & had a bit of trouble getting all the clips together but finally managed to figure it out. The morning bite was good but died in the late afternoon. I was glad to be fishing the river again after fishing only lakes so far this year. Enjoy.

Fished with JiggerJim yesterday for 15 hrs. We landed a total of 30 fish. No biggies but a lot of fun. Biggest fish of the day was an 18 pounder.

I had a hard time figuring out how to post the vid & pic but I got it now.

I fished the Pipes yesterday. That was my 3rd session so far this year. I blanked on the first two sessions & was hoping to finish the day with some fish landed. I did manage three fish on the bank & lost one while trying to net it. I found out from one of the guys there that the carp had spawned the week before so I guess that accounted for the slow bite. The wind really kicked in the afternoon & that didn't help.

I haven't seen this doe since I posted the vid of her on July 20 th. Yesterday she showed up & her leg looks worse than ever. She can put some weight on it but has a terrible limp.

I hope someone takes her during the upcoming season. I think she will have a hard time surviving the winter.
