  1. Looks like you had a good time and landed some beautiful fish. It looks like that cat could eat your head, and the pic of your little man with that mirror is priceless. I love seeing the kids enjoying the outdoors he wont soon forget that. Sure beats catching a little bass lol......

  2. Good info there Rob I would like to think that most of us on here were aware of those facts but that video could open a lot of eyes to some truth to why carp are everywhere. I didn't notice but did you mention that they were spread to be used as a food source? Anyway nicely done interesting to see what kind of comments that brings on Youtube. :carprock:

  3. Welcome to CAG!! There is plenty of info on here to get you started. I gotta warn you once you start catching some nice fish your gonna be hooked, and your gonna want all the fancy gear lol... If you look in the forum section theres a list of all the state chairs look yours up and I would start by contacting him. Most everybody on here would be glad to go spend some time fishing with you and give you some tips on rigs baits etc etc.

    Good luck to you

    Chris....

  4. I have heard from several people that carp are good. My grandmother said her mom used to can them and make fish patties out of them and she remembers them being good.

There are a couple lakes here that I know the fish and game have been talking for years about killing ALL the fish in the lake just to get rid of the carp. I think it would be much better to give them a value as food instead of destroying the entire lake of everything swimming in it. Carp here in america in most waters are abundant and overpopulated even and to cut down on the numbers will only make the fish bigger and healthier. So I say if you like them eat on.... I have yet to try it but maybe someday.

I also think that if you intend to keep them for eating it doesn't make a bit of difference to me what your means of take are bow spear hook and line whatever. I just dont like the killing of them to let them become worm food theres nothing sportsmanlike about killing them just to kill them but if your killing them to feed your family I may even give you the little ones I catch. But NOT the big ones....

  5. Great story Horace as always. It seems that you guys always end up with great company and always a good tale to tell even when no fish are put on the banks. The time you spend and the people you spend that time with make it all worth it.

One of these days I swear I want to get the chance to spend a few days with you guys on the banks somewhere even if to just soak up the experiences life has sent your way.

I look forward to the next chapter and maybe you can manage to get Mr. Morrow that stinkin monster another day...

  6. That's a great video I never thought of rigging up that way. I will have to give it a go... If you manage to find any dead crittERZ kicking around there is sure to be a good supply of maggots. I have heard of people using a dead fish or animal of some kind several days before you plan to fish to grow your own little maggot farm. That is if you can stand the stank...
