  1. Why thanks Andrew,

I wasn't aware I had an unsafe heater, as this one is tip over and low o2 sensitive. I fuc=ed up and that's it!! None of the directions mention throwing sleeping bags directly on them, but I feel sure you'll come up with one that is 'case sensitive'

    Tight Lines,

    Brid.

fair enough brid. looked similar to the ones I have browned the inside of my bivvy with before. I am mistaken.

  2. looks like you got lucky with this. have owned a few of those style of heaters ie black cats from coleman.in my experience too, they do topple over and are unreliable (I have owned four which all broke) . maybe you should have a look at one of these. I have one and cant fault it. has a low oxygen sniffer which automatically reduces the gas bar back to pilot so no chance of going grey in the night as long as your bivvy is ventilated (door open). it really is like being indoors on a cold winter night and helps me fish all year now when before I would of hung up the rods. one 3.5kg gas bottle lasts months of trips. all in all, a brilliant bit of kit with the only draw back being that its extra weight to carry. I just stick it on the barrow though so better to carry a little extra and be warm.

  3. agreed andrew, but no dead Kormorants,,,,,,,,,,,we need you to fish it again !!!! :)

maybe one day we will return. i can't let taking out cormorants be my only act of known notoriety in texas. there is other stuff but luckily for me, you haven't seen me and my fishing buddies out on sixth street!

seriously though neil, I bombed so much groundbait in that spot trying to pull fish from the power station channel on the other side of the lake. it must of pulled in all the small pan fish in the area, which in turn meant i had about 200 cormorants diving over my spot. not even a noddy like me could miss one or two of them! have a video of me baiting up then cormorant hell somewhere!

nice one for putting on the event again. you did a great job last time my brother and I attended (apart from that 'comedian') and am sure this year was probably even better (you didn't book him again did you?!) . even though I wasn't there this time, all the great pics of the atc on the forum remind of what a great event it is, where you meet great friends both old and new, plus get to fish a fantastic venue too. how good is that?!!

  4. this is a bit delayed but end of september and the start of october, i made what is becoming an annual trip to new york, to fish the st lawrence and a certain reservoir near troy! my brother james became a father prior to this trip but i had a great subtitute in long term fishing mate rich

the fishing was ok although not too great in the 30's department with just a handfull this time. sadly i blanked at the reservoir probably due to a torrent of cold rain that fell for the most of the time that i was there.

the st lawrence was on orm or numbers but where have all the big fish gone? i have a theory and am going to put it into practice next time i'm there. it's a bit off the wall but makes sense really. i only wish i had the brain engagement earlier in my trip and i would of tried the possible new monster biggie bait!

i had a great time with the ogdensburg crew as is usual and came back a wreck after partying and fishing with them. you know who you all are! just a few thanks though to jay, bob, louie, dobber or enjoying the bank side with us. we love you guys!

anyway a bit picture heavy but hope you like them all the same.....
