My favorite spot is a sandy beach near my house on lake Erie. It is very shallow, and kind of protected like a huge bay. But I have to feed regularly for a few days, to pull in the mostly double digit fish. It is a featureless lake bottom, but a couple of creeks flow into the lake within 1km. I usually don't catch any if the waves are too big. Good luck, and let us know how you do.

Thanks for the info and great pics and video hammercarp. But it leads to more questions.
It has a sliding sinker, so do you have to set the hook?
If so then when, because I imagine there would be a lot of line movement as the pack bait is eaten before the hook is taken.

I have two questions, they may be related. What is a puff, and why such a large hook?

It would be interesting to be on that boat for a full day, especially in my favorite locations.

Hello everyone, this is my first post. I have only been after Carp for about one year now. And it is great, I enjoy catching a variety of fish but with Carp you get a lot of action and some amazing fights. I have attached a link below that I found while reading a nearby Newspaper (online). It's misinformation and backwards ideals bothered me enough to open my first "thread".

Don't see much action in the forum, so instead of just creepin, I figured I'd write a bit .Went carpin in lake Erie at about 5pm today with a buddy. Used corn on a hair Starting feeding area 2 days ago No luck for a couple hours, thought it was because the waves were too big. Started adding a pva bag with my special mix, and in the next 2 hours we hooked 10 and landed 6. (losses due to problems with new hooks and old line). 2, 16 pounders and the smallest about 8 pounds. I thought the waves meant no fish, but pva saved the day.
