    keep you eyes on the Weather forcast,check the first post on this link to get right in to weather station ,,,,,, right now it looks GREAT !!!! Mid 60's with lows in the Mid 40's,,,,,,,this will change I'm certain,,,and it will get warmer ( I hope),,,,,,,just got an "E" mail from the Carp Gods....

    LAST MINUTE STUFF FOR THE EVENT

    OK KIDS,,,,,,,everything is all set on this end,,,,,, :) so here's a check list for you :blush:

    1) Securely packed rods ??

    2) Fresh or trustworthy line on the reels ?

    3) reels in good order ( lubed, check the drags etc)

    4) Texas Fishing license

    5) Stuff for pack, method or whatever ??

    6) Sharpened hooks

    7) Stuff for Chum ( no corn this year at the Social :( )

    8) chair, or something to sit on or sleep on, depending on the swim :)

    9) Bull Chit repellant

    10) Cell phone to do leaderboard ( charged would help)

    11) CASH for the pots

    12) your bait of choice and a few back ups just in case the TEXAS fish think your home bait SUCKS

    13) Suitable landing net

    14) one scale ( to be verified at the Thursday social) per team

    15) tape measure ( we measure fish for Parks and Wildlife)

    16) a package of dehydrated CROW just in case you have to eat it :)

    17) Sunscreen ( never know)

    18) your sense of humour

    19) Money (CASH) for shirts & extra Banquet tickets

    20) Landing mat & keep sack ( just in case the Marshalls take a few minutes to get to you at a remote swim)

    This time, 2 weeks from now you should have you peg location,,,,,,,GOOD LUCK !!!!

    some interesting comments,,,,,I personally think you can catch CARP on GOOSE CHIT...... they eat what they want and when they want it,,,,,,, the nice thing about BOILIES on a hair, is that you don't have to keep checking the rod and reel it in for every little tap,,,,, corn, etc, falls off,,,,,Ive seen some magnificent fish caught on PLASTIC,,,,,,personally, you need to have confidence in a specific bait and use it consistently I mean I've even seen some fish caught on PUFFS :)

    It will be good to see everyone ( even the MICHIGANDERS) but this year the playing field is full :)

    I think the HEAVY guns are "keeping their powder dry" in anticipation for the SHOOT OUT :) not only ais the event sold out, but there will be a record number at the banquet,,,,( last count 70 people) and perhaps some people from the City as well,,, :)

    so...... being the coordinator this year,,,,I hereby give permission for everyone to let the ammo fly, :) pick on who you will, TRASH AND BASH as much as y'all can,,,,,, the shoot out at the OK corral is just 2 weeks away,,,,,,I'm ready !!! :jumpy: the ATC guys & gals have cleared the swims, Carl has done a freaking fantastic job on a large map of the pegs ( to be at the social & draws) Parking passes have been secured for the swims that need them, park police have been advised that we are coming.. Hooters gals are getting ready for ya, Twin Peaks is on alert, the Austin Rowing club will NOT be putting out Buoys until we are done, all pegs envelopes are packed and ready, Bait bucket goodies are loaded, :yes:
    Willem has been fine tuning the new leaderboard( thank you sir for what you have done ), all over the country anglers are preparing to confront one another, Talked to Mark Metzger and he vows he's going to catch fish, he's partnered with GOLDEN BALLS Phil :) a power to be reckined with, the Bates Brothers are concocting Miele balls, K-1 Boilies, and World Concept Boilies CC Moore and others , will be at each other throats :) Puffs will be thrown, as will corn and range cubes,,,,,, Husband and Wife teams have stopped bickering and decided to come together to kick other teams arses, going to be one hell of a couple of days,,,,,,

    so.......

    GET AFTER IT GUYS & GALS, TEAR EACH OTHER THROATS OUT ON THIS THREAD,,,,,,AND ON SATURDAY NIGHT WE'LL SEE WHO EATS HOW MUCH CROW :)

    Now I personally have NO horse in this race, however,,,,,the TROPHY isn't leaving TEXAS again :)

    and guys, I just noticed that on the cover page there is a link to the scoreboard,,,, thanks Willem :)

    of course it will cleared out priot to the event,,,,REMEMBER,,,this is only for quick update for the Anglers, you must post VERIFIED captures within 1 hour of the capture,,,,,,and NONE OF THEM COUNT OFFICIALLY unless the scorecard is turned in that evening !!

    First, all those traveling, be careful and drive safely...

    The social will be outside my cassita, or if weather is bad, inside the cassita...there are two other groups in the hotel that night,,,,,a senior dominoe tourney :) and the Austin Womens Democratic Club,,,,

    no corn at the Social, for the past 3 years we have purchased corn, and it went to waste,,,

    Soda and Wings and Pizza will be at Social,,,,,want beer you can get it at the bar,,,,no glass around the pool area please !!!

    Watch the Local weather, so you dress accordingly

    One bucket per team, it will have all the goodies for the team in the one bucket,,,,

    Shirts can be picked up at the Social ( and Paid for )

    Extra Banquet tickets will be ready for your purchase,,,,I will only have those for those that have reserved prior to closing of the date,

    Willem will once again go over how to use the Leader Board,,,,done at the peg draw on Friday AM

    I will get your teams contact phone number at the Social or the peg draw,,,just in case for some reason we need to get out a mass message to everyone,,,

    Lunch will be delivered to you on Friday,,,,,Saturday you will be on your own,,,,,,

    Please DO NOT forget you fishing license,,,,that could be costly !!

    There is a Walmart near by, so you pick up a chair if you are not bringing one !

    LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ALL THERE !!!! any questions, put them on this thread, either I or one of the ACA guys will respond to you !

    Keith was supposed to do the odds, and he will probably get on it shortly,,,,, but if AF bob wants to one as well, he is more than welcome !!!! always good to have a double perspective :)

    Actuallt the event is FIXED, :) Andy Springle and Nilkki will win, hads down,,,,,,WAIT...... they aren't registered are they?????? oh Chit, one of you guys get in on this and do it,,,,only a few weeks left !

    WARNING AND REMINDER





    Saturday is the last day for submitting Tee Shirt and Extra Banquet Ticket orders,,,,,,need some time to have the shirts made, and the hotel needs lead time for the meals



    there will be NO Extra shirts at the event, so if you want one, for you, your spouse, or a runner, get the order in just scroll back to the appropriate link and request them fees are listed there,,,,, and I will collect them and issue you the shirt at the Social



    Seating at the Banquet will be by ticket,,,,, the ticket will also be used as a raffle ticket,,,,,no ticket, no dinner,,,,,you will have your 2 tickets in the event bucket ( you and your partner) extra ticket fees will be colleted



    at the Thursday Social, and you will be given another ticket for each additional purchase of a meal BUT I need to know the numbers on the thread above,,,,

    One the ACA guys, Kevin Oliver recently captured this impressive 30, the note on it was, "fish are starting to fatten up for the ATC" it sure looks that way,,,, Kevin, I stole this off your facebook post :)
