  1. you will get hosed buying by the pound. you will use it all anyway. Store it in 5 gallon buckets or rubbermaid totes. Tractor supply has all of those you mentioned in stock. I never leave that store without at least 6 50 pound bags of supplies. Its your best bet. Split it with a friend to save $$$. 25 pounds usually fits in a 5 gallon bucket
  2. I second that. Also no mat ????
  3. fish in for nj is this weekend on the Hackensack river. Message me for more info

  4. I'm in as long as the weather permits. I'll keep you posted.
  5. It might be wise to give copies to our sopnsors to include in their orders to promote new members. Also a few to brick and mortar stores who specialize in carp tackle and or paylakes. Think the news letter has huge potential in getting new members and retaining the current ones.
  6. Will be held at Donaldson park on the Raritan river. Will start around 6am till dark. Bring all your unwanted or not needed gear to sell and swap. Hope to see everyone there.

  9. Thanks CAG and everyone who put in time and effort into this event. Also want to thank the sponsors for the awesome prizes
  10. I was surprised to find the quality and quantity of carp I found. I had to share it with another CAG member (Barry) to validate it's existance. I have noticed a decline of numbers but the size is still there.
  11. I have 120+ pounds with 4 fish but I can't post them because I'm not approved.
  12. It's saying I'm registeted but not approved??
  13. Just ordered a few. See how they come out and will update.
  14. I'll see if I can make it.
  15. I liked it but I liked seeing all the new gear in the yearly DVDs.
  16. Learn how to tie your own. Not too hard at all. Any respectable carp angler will tell you the same thing. Don't waste your money on rigs and start getting proper gear like nets, mats, slings, rods, pods, alarms etc. trust me save your $$$, tie your own, and catch more fish.
  17. Sometimes back leads help a lot. Keeps the floating debris from catching your lines and getting false indication.
  18. And ditch the eagle claw hooks. Get some carp specific hooks and you will almost double the amount of carp you catch.
  19. Use a shock leader of 30 pound or heavier mono. Enough to go from your lead and wrapped around your reel a few times. From there an inline 3-5 oz lead. 30 pound end trap soft multi rig. Use either a world classic 16mm boilie or a few pieces of fake corn. Use some pack around your lead or a small pva stick filled with the same hook bait boilies crushed. That's my go to river set up. I mainly only fish rivers. Hudson, raritan, Hackensack, all of which are fast flowing tidal rivers. Hope that helped, it sure works for me. Any questions on the rig just look up multi rig on YouTube.
