  1. As most people have said, panko is a good start. I wouldn't worry too much about boilies at this point in your "carping career." Use sweet corn on the hair and I think you'll have some luck. When the water warms up and we get together, I'll share as much knowledge as I have to help you along.

Thanks bud :) It really means a lot to have guys step in and share their knowledge, I'll be using pankos pack with a cornpuff or some corn this weekend (y)

  2. Depends what your base mix is made out of. Usually if you simply add some semolina it will absorb and stiffen up the mix to where it won't be sticky anymore. As far as rods and reels what is your price range you are looking at? It will be a lot easier to help out since they vary.

Probably around $500 or so, where in the heck do you find semolina? I've looked all over the state of Ohio and haven't found a place yet, even went up to Mesopotomia lol

  3. Could anyone recommend a decent rod/reel for me? I've been using a combo I picked up at a sporting store forever ago and it's starting to see the end of days coming up on it...

Also another question : When trying to use my boilie gun/table, it seems the mix is too sticky, would that just be solved by adding a bit of extra oils to the mix?

  4. Thanks...no not at Buckeye Lake, still waiting for the lake to fill in a bit more after winter drawdown. Dillon drawdown schedule only shows they were going to lower it the traditional 3'...sounds like they may have done more. The schedule shows they will be letting it fill back up 1 Apr.

Yeah it is way down past 3 feet, not sure of how familar you are with the area but it's showing bottom all the way up towards the docks.

  5. A bit late on this, but I ordered a small boilie table/gun from them around November of last year, everything went smoothly and was immediately notified when they processed and shipped the order.

Shipping was quick, and I was surprised when I got a few copies of CAG magazine...this was way back when I was still a new carper (still am, but not as much now...) and it really lit the fire!

    Thanks guys!

  6. Hey Newbie!

Central Ohio angler here. I've only tried Dillon once before but didn't have any luck. The location I was fishing had trees and branches sticking out of the water so I didn't stay around long since I knew I would probably lose every fish I had.

The Muskingum is a great place to catch hard fighting river Carp. I would start there if you're looking to hook up on some fish.

I would be more than willing to meet you out there someday to show you the ropes and teach you some techniques. I'm sure Bob would be willing as well.

Good to have you aboard Newbie!

Pretty sure I've seen a few of your videos on Youtube, I knew your name looked familiar :P VShiflet?
