  5. You know It Seems We Have Been Conditioned Here To Think We Can't Post Our mind, OR Ideas Without The Fear Of Crossing The Tackle supporter line and I applaud your effort to share your knowledge and expertise with the club. Might be nice if you were to make a Commemorative rod for the CCC winner (or looser). Or better yet, as a prize for the best member written article submitted for the News Letter over the coarse of a year (chosen by you, with your connection to the News Letter it would be Cool Symmetry). I'm sure we could put out a collection to pay for it in the donation section to help offset the cost. Would be a nice promotion to help spur the news letter, and the publicity you get would be a win-win. This is exactly the type of thing that is good for..... THE AMERICAN CARP SCENE CAG IT'S MEMBERS The Carp world here would be a lot further along if more folks started ground up businesses in there basements and garages. And as a club we have been pretty lax in encouraging that since those types of businesses are more likely to offer member discounts and support individual and local events which can build membership. Good luck!!!

  9. Announcements on the Dixon Carp Derby coming this week..........
  10. Obviously there is still a lot of work going on for the site up grade for one person, and I hate to make more work for him so I thought to ask a few questions and to hopefully answer some questions others have as well..... 1) Realistically, When should we be able to expect access to back to lets say 85% of normal? 2) Will there be away to change from the phone mode back to full screen from a phone. 3) The prompts when you try to bring up content are saying there is no content. I assume it's the system still rebooting....so before we let you know on that stuff how much time do you need so you don't get bothered with questions on specific threads....? Anyway, thanks for taking on the herculean task!
  11. Mine came today. The paper envelope was a nice touch.....kept it in better condition being deliver to a P.O. Box then in the past.
  12. As of this morning still have not recieved one. Suburban/Northwest Chicago, Ill.
  13. Went to notification options....was very easy to follow.....I think I answered my own question.... Thanks again Willem.
  14. Thanks Willem, If I turn off Auto Following everything will I still recieve billing notices and event notices?
  15. Willem, Do members have the ability to turn off post notifications (e-mails) on threads they have posted on, or do you have to do it? It came on after the glitch issue and the new account so I don't know if it's a default setting or one that one needs to request to be removed from and I didn't really pay attention till I started deleting dozens and dozens of notification. I would like it turned OFF for my account. I posted here in case anyone else wanted the how to info if it's something we can control/have access to. Thanks in advance, Larry
  16. As of now there are alot of changes happening in the City of Dixon. A new Mayor, the push to create one City Marketing Tool from the many current Promotional organiziations. If you attended the 2015 Dixon Carp Derby awards ceremony you are were made aware of the challenges for the 2016 year and the reality of the situation. After speaking with the Park District Director we have set aside the dates of August 19-21, 2016 and August 26-28, 2016as the two possible weekends that the event will happen. At this time the funding is still being discussed.....including the possibility of a having four 26 hour overnight events limited in size (12 to 16 teams/ind.) to raise awareness, to spur more local involvement and to raise funds for the 2016 Dixon Family Carp Derby. The Parks Department has made a special facility available to run these events. I have been in touch with the Interim City Director and have been informed the City is Still behind the event and he is working to help push the event forward.....GOOD NEWS!!! SO MARK YOUR CALENDERS !!! I will post updates as they become available and narrow in on the specific weekend the event will happen. Larry
  17. I think it's a great idea to have multiple years planned out and the spots discussed would be good draws for members...but I think that one of the problems that has plagued the CCC IS that once an event has happened at one location.....moving it to a new location the following year causes all that ground work and effort to become lost and lost making the event perpetually labor intensive....also, it can mean that it can be years between when an event is local for some making it cost to much for the average angler to attend. The idea of having the CCC at locations that current "Major Events" happen is great for the purpose of people being aware and confident in the location making them more likely to attend.....but the reality is having the CCC at those locations in its current form would require the local promoter putting on two major events which truly is a big added burden to those already doing alot.....the other issue is that with some of these places are "seasonaly productive" and can handle large group with good fish only for a few months out of the year....and not always in the fall. Given that there are now a fair number of repeating major events through CAG, Wild Carp, WCC, CarpTS, ICN, CFN, Michigan, HOOSIERS, and etc if seems that it would be in the best interest of the anglers, CAG, the independent promoters to try to work towards having a major events every 3 to 4 weeks apart all season from March till the end in early November and to make sure that all regions are included and all styles/formats have an event featured during the coarse of the year so as to involve everyone and all clubs, so that we showcase every style from: Euro Tournaments, Paylake events, Local Derbys, Major Fish-in/Socials, to Discovery Events. CAG had its biggest growth and most strength when we all worked together, and that there was variety for all skill levels and history has shown there is only going to be a few folks willing to sacrifice their time to put on events of others. The CCC could then be rotated or moved to piggyback events that where already happening....making it easier to pull off while actually creating that bond between CAG and those who drive the sport and industry. I would also suggest that NEW EVENTS/LOCATION should be given preference to have the CCC as the exposure to new places, events and anglers will be what feeds CAG going forward until there is a full yearly schedule at which point the CCC could be requested by those wanting to do a little more......that of course would require that the CCC be able to have a flexible schedule ....but that technical issue seems do-able. For anyone who has been running an event for a number of years.....it does get easier year after year to repeat an existing event, and it is more likely that someone who "Births" an event to repeat that event rather then having them run a second event event at another time in the years is really just to much to ask someone and to do. The other issue is that we all want to fish events ourselves, by only having to work on our local one once a year it would free us up all up to fish the others.....this is the only way a true tournament circut can be built from the ground up with the folks and resources that are apart of the sport now. Free time for all of us is limited and very precious, only having to do one event a year will make folks more likely to step up. Just my two-cents.....
  18. There are always two sides to any story..... or in this case three..... Still can't figure out why Fox told him to go through the vendor on one hand, and accepted responsibility on the other. Even more curious why two out of four alarms would go bad in a year..... Any one know why Fox would do this and what models those alarms where...may Wan't to stay away from those.
  19. So back to my original question then, what's the proper way to post pictures so the pictures are visable to all so that after this temporary "TEST" I and others can post pics for people to see like Frank's were because the corrective measures you said to make did not work, Only you changing the settings did, so as to not waste my time or yours in the future.....What are we supposed to do?
  20. I'll let Mike know about the defective rod. Thanks again Willem
  21. I appreciate you changing the access for all to see Willem. Just curious as to how long the pics have been unavailable to non-members. I was under the impression that when Louis's administration took most things members only right at the transfer to Andy and Mario's administration. I was under the assumption that when access was opened to some parts by Andy the images would have been too as a part of the attraction and would be an impetus for people to join as was the case for a decade proceeding that......have non-members been "BLIND" to all images for the past 4 To 5 YEARS? WOW! Friends of CAG, local post not in the members only section, pictures and stories andd CCC stuff too! No wonder the people have moved off to Facebook and other things.....there's been nothing to see here and only half of the stories here... Kind of a BIG oversight if your trying to recruit new people of retain casual members through an economic downturn like 2010-2012 Anyway, Thanks again for helping figure this out Willem! Your the best.
  22. So your the reason it just worked now...?
