Kyle Jeffreys contacted me and asked me to post on our forum.
Kyle has been in contact with the DEEP this week and although they cant give him a 100% assurance that a permit will be issued for the competition due to the present situation
they said they cant see a problem , if there is all moneys for registration will be returned.
that said, registration will open on 7/13/20 and if the response from last year is anything to go by its gona be huge ! .
more information will be on the fishinfactory 3 Facebook page but feel free to contact me at 860 652 5287 and i will be happy to help.
entrance fee will still be $400 per person

Nice photos and outstanding fish. The first photo has the sun's rays on the left. Thinking there might be something theological there. A blessing from on High? Thanks for sharing.
funny you should say that cannonball, a couple of weeks before that picture was taken the camera guys dad died, when he saw the picture after he said he thinks its his old man looking over us....really cool i thought.

The Self Hooking makes me grimace. Had that happen but it was in my middle finger.
Did you pop it through, and debarb? OUCH. ?Nice Fish.
Did you do any fishing out of the boat? Or was it all shore based?
yup sorter i pushed it through and chopped off the barb , im a butcher by trade so although it hurt i sort of new what i was doing.
no, all the fish came from the bank , the boat was to try and get a massive fish un snagged from the fallen tree it had dragged me into.

Lee,
Very impressive pictures, and I am impressed! You had a good summer. I've never seen a carp with fins as in the second picture down. Would that be a cross with a koi?
You got a grimace out of me with your "self-hooked" picture. What's the story on that one? (Nice looking hair by the way.)
Ken <:///><
your absolutely spot on ken! its mummy or daddy was indeed a koi.
the hook in the hand was the outcome of a 5oz lead caught in a weed bed close in , me pulling extra hard , and the thing whizzing towards my face as it came out of said weed bed like an Exocet missile ! and to top it off i was by myself and had to drive home with it still in my hand.

while im on here i thought i would just share a few carpy pictures from my season so far including a few boat shots of when i lost what can only be called a "hippopotachunk !"
anyway, its gona be picture heavy so go put the kettle on, make yourself a nice cup-o-tea , sit back and enjoy the fun and frolics of "lee the mad Brit goes carping"
and at the end a few tutorials ive done this year for people who have never caught a carp, one guy had his first carp with me and it just happened to be a 30lb fish, another guys first fish was a near fully scaled mirror !

yer..i found it....lol , thanks boss

i live just down the road from you in wethersfield mate.

im happy to put a prize up of a $100 gift card to wholefoods if that sounds attractive ?

once again fishin factory 3 will be hosting the carp open on the Connecticut river this year !
there will be 5/6 new swims never fished before on the wethersfield game club available as pegs this year so don't miss out on the chance to fish against some of the best carp anglers in America.
there have been some proper "hipopotachunks" caught this year and for sure a few have got your names on !.
i will post a link below for sign ups or indeed give me a shout and i can put you in touch with the blokes that organize it......"happy haulin"

that's a "baby grow"?

awesome write up mate, your playing with the big boys now.
for those of you who don't know FDA i found him about 4 years ago fishing in the annual kids fishing event hosted by wethersfield game club which after a few tweaks to his rig he managed to catch a carp and win the thing !. next year i saw him again fishing the same event and after advising him where to cast with only 2 minuets to go till the end he again catches a carp and wins again !
a few months after that i took him and his dad on a tutorial and he managed to catch his old PB a stunning 23lb common.
as you can see folks he has gone from strength to strength and is now a force to be reckoned with, keep up the great catch rate bruv ,im so proud of you.
if any of you see him out there beware , he is a "haulin" machine !!!
-
thanks chaps !
im thinking Jerome might be the cheaper option lol , buy him a few beers and ill be golden ! .
ill let you all know how i get on,still trying to get my head around using only one rod...weird lol

morning folks.
so im off to Canada next month for a week ,the misses and nephew are going to some death metal concerts so i thought i would have a dangle in the st Lawrence river.
we are going to Montreal and staying right next to the river but i have absolutely no idea how to fish it ! and can find very little on YouTube to help me, and this is where you lovely folks come in ..HELP !.
what baits work ,what tactics do i need to employ ,size of fish to expect ,tackle to take ?.
any help folks would be greatly appreciated, and if there are any danglers on here who live in Montreal or close by i would love to get together when im there for a session.

so, you "lovingly" punch a steel bolt through mum's/dad's cheek; "lovingly" torture mum/dad for 10-20 min.; "lovingly" drag them underwater (or, other lethal environment) for an extended egocentric netting/matting/measuring/weigh-in/photo-op; then, magnanimously release them back into their living room ???
yup.....
