Blue Team Captain Rick Slinker and Red Team Captain Adam Jenkins just before heading out for the Illinois Carp Championships.

Adam wanted to thank all of the people who voted for him. He says he will not let you down.

(there is a poll on "Indiana Carp Talk")

Rick would like to say thank you to the few people who believe in him.

Rick and Adam with some of their supporters.

Notice the spit cups in the red team picture in support of Jathan Imhausen.

Awesome Video Paul!!! :)

...you have my respect :D

Paul

You did Dixon right! Thanks.

Look forward to meeting you at Lowell Park, Dixon Saturday.

You might need some of my homemade strawberry dough ball to get 8 prize winning carp at the Dixon Fighting RoughFish Tournament.

Good fishing.

I did a bit of searching for a convenient breakfast spot on Saturday morning and found: Town and Country Family Restaurant located on highway 26 between Page Park and Lowell Park. They open at 6A and serve a full breakfast menu. For those wanting an address to punch in the GPS (1135 N. Galena Ave.)

I'm a local boy. My favorite deli/cafe is Baker St. Cafe, downtown, on 1st St. just off Galena.

Roast their own beans, and have the best pies and cakes. Good deli selection for light breakfast or lunch.

open 7 a.m. Sat. Closed Sunday.

I have a little update on the tournament. There was 18 teams total. There have been 12 fish caught as of 5:00 pm. The Biggest fish is just over 6 lbs. The fish are spread out through about 7-8 teams. Nobody seems to be dominating as of yet. I hope to have some better results in a while. I do know one thing, that none of the fish caught so far were by the "Hoosier Carpers". There was a family derby across the river with kids. I heard they caught over 100 carp. One kid caught 20.

Thanks Jim for the updates on the leaders.....the weather couldn't be better (maybe three/four degrees cooler) and the misquitos are bad but everyone still has a pulse....

I know everyone's thinking it so I might as well call it " THE BIGGEST, LITTLE-FISH TOURNAMENT IN TOWN"......during the day we saw a very slow bite with sporadic fish in between the jet-ski's and boats but anglers pressed on with the idea night would be the time where distance could be put between competators. The number of fish tripled from 5:30-9:30 compaired to the 5 and a half hours previous. And the weights started to climb with Paul Scotts 9-2. As guys preped for the challenges of a completely dark area....and caculated their thir approaches to the trees for casting and their baiting stratagys for the night you could hear the hooting and hollering of another team joining the raqnks of the teams with a fish. And even if small, they (the team) knew they earned it the hard way....!!!!

Next update by Jim Dolan from Westside Bait and Tackle in the morning..........
