Don M
Larry, While the fish were indeed small, you did a fine job of orgainizing this tournament sir and it was a pleasure meeting you. My partner and I enjoyed ourselves, and even though we coudln't get em going, we had a fun time. Don Standish, MI
Larry H
Thanks to everyone for a really fun tournament. Special thanks for all the hours the stewards put in to make this an enjoyable event. Edward....you were spot on with your winning prediction of total weight and your estimate on size for the big fish. Local knowledge rules!!!! I enjoyed fishing with all of you. Thanks to Larry K. for his organizational efforts and to Eric G. and Lee Y. for their stewarding skills and encouraging words. Special kudos to the good will and humor shown by all contestants throughout the 26 hours. I will carry special "memories" of Polish serenades, 2:30 a.m. karaoke bars, Juan's comparisons about amateur and "pro" competitions, and Paul S's 2:00 a.m. fish that he probably doesn't remember . In my own best interest, I probably shouldn't draw attention to the fact that peg #9 is absent in the standings (my peg). However, in the interest of full disclosure, I am compelled to report that my teammate and I caught no fish (none, 0, zilch) at peg #9. Still a good time! --Frank

Eric Glazewski
Frank, I was just wondering how your prize will work out. Will you be the new state chair or will Mike take over??? Maybe you guys could get another fez and be co-chairs???
Guest cornball
I just got in, and still need to unload the truck,,shower and sleep (sound familiar). I hope everyone made it home safe. And I will post more about both events and the results once I get everything together. Over $4,800 in cash was paid out between the two events, and another $875 in tackle awards. Thanks to all of you and the people of Dixon. Just an FYI, 1st Place should read $1,500.00 not $1,600.00, reception is really bad out their and I lost Jim 6 times while trying to give him the totals while driving, Thanks for you help with everything Jim, and the trophys.....Awards will get mailed out as soon as I can get to it. If you tiik pictures please post them..... And last. PAUL SANDERS I finally saw the video sunday.........YOU ARE MY HERO!!!

Congrats to all! We made all kinds of "smaller fish" adjustments and used every flavor of pips on tiny hooks, all to no avail. I should have made some skypod adjustments to address the heavy current, but, alas, I couldn't take my skypod to the tournament because the bag for it fell apart and my trusted carp bait and tackle shop hasn't even ordered a new one yet. Yeah, that's it. Blame the blank session on the lack of a skypod bag.

(IL) CHIBIGTEE
Hello fellow carpers, Tracy here. Thanks Larry for for running a fairly tight ship. An awful lot for 1 person to cover. Beautiful venue, access to bathrooms, and being to camp right at the bankside was both good and bad. The reason I haven't posted sooner was getting over the bank surfing. What that is: At 1 and 4am the alarm goes off and your half asleep fumbling with your flashlight heading out the tent. I practiced it many times in the light(3 steps to the edge, 2 steps down to the pod). When your half asleep and miss count(1st) or miss the steps all together, you go down the bank WAY faster than your ready. Once down the bank on the right side and once on the left. I'm moving better today and nothing broken. The fishing was like a very looooong matchfishing contest. Small everything with a heavy weight is hard to balance. 3 onces held out so far and 4 onces abit father and so on. The fish were further out in the light and closer at night. We just couldn't land that special kicker fish. I know we had one on several times but couldn't get it to the bank. I enjoyed myself(little sore) but think I could do that again. BTW, need trash cans, didn't see a one. later
