I happened to shoot Italo Labignan host of Canadian Sportfishing, a message about carp fishing. How it's becoming such a big thing in North America. He reply'd by saying that he is now thinking of shooting a Carp Fishing episode.

Also I've listened to the FAN590 between 8 and 10 (?) on Saturday and heard Fishn' Canada talk numerous times about the growing sport of Carp Fishing here.

That was excellent, thanks for sharing that Mark.We are so lucky to live in a great carp area too being in Hamilton and those guys are right and we know it too that the carp is going to be the next great Canadian sport fish.Who plans to go out fishing for the smallest fish they can catch? NOBODY. Everybody fishes for the biggest fish they can catch in any species.Carp are the biggest fish and most plentiful fish in Canada, they're numbers have been growing over the years and now we have one of the best carp fisheries in the world. All the young lads who are fishing for carp now will be the experts in the future when carp are recognized as one of Canada's top game fish, and they will have the stories to tell they're young ones of how it used to be.The future of carp fishing in Canada looks great and is moving fast.

When I was in Regina Saskatchewan this year I found a pamphlet in the lobby of the motel I was staying at and it showed carp fishing as something to do while visiting the city.I thought that was pretty cool and they had a photo of a fisherman holding a bufflo caught right in town.Hamilton should do something like that too.The carp are here why not make them a tourist attraction and that would be a step towards recognition as a sport fish. That doesn't mean that Hamilton will be flooded with fisherman but it will put more photos of carp at sporting stores that sell fishing gear and maybe more places will stock carp supplies.Maybe carp fishing won't be frowned on by other so called sport fishermen.Until that day the mighty carp belongs to we who fish now.
