This looks/sounds like a blast! I can't make it this time, though; will try to make a future event!

I am particularly interested in multispecies tourneys.... match fishing!

Big thanks to Zach Testa who has donated a $25 gift certificate from World Classic Baits for our August 2 "Saturday in the Park Tournaments" at the Illinois River in Ottawa's Allen Park.

The certificate will go to the angler who records a fish closest to 11-10, the date of the Marine Corps birthday and in honor of Staff Sergeant Testa. This will not be part of the 16 item package that limits prizes to two per angler. This $25 award is open to all! Good luck! --Frank

I have received the WCB $25 gift certificate from Sergeant Testa. Thanks, Zach!

In light of the gift from an active Marine and with two Marine vets in the tournament (Dan, Frank), the certificate will go to the angler catching the fish closest in weight to the date of the Marine Corps birthday--11-10. Semper Fi!

Chances for rain have dropped to less than 10% in Ottawa tomorrow. More likely, we'll have partly sunny skies and a high of 82°. That's quite a difference from the cold front and highs in the 60s last year. Don't forget peg choice is at 6:30 a.m. Two rod maximum.

Thanks to the 11 anglers who participated in the August 2, 2014 "Saturday in the Park" Multi-species tournaments on the Illinois River at Allen Park in Ottawa, Illinois. Illinois DNR reports have indicated that the influx of Asian Carp have decimated or replaced the common/grass carp population in the area, and results showed it. Nevertheless, other species were caught and there were winners.

More photos and more specific results will be posted within 24 hours, but for the time being, congratulations are in order for morning tournament winners Fred Rhodes (1st), Frank Rink (2nd), and Cory Bohmann (3rd) and afternoon tournament winners Dave Marceau (1st), Lorne Marceau (2nd), and Fred Rhodes (3rd). Lorne Marceau won the $25 WCB gift certificate donated by Sgt. Zach Testa for the fish weighing closest to 11-10 (a 12-5 grass carp and one of only two grass carp caught).

Thanks, again, to those who came out for "Saturday in the Park."
