FFF 2015 - Post ALL Carp Entries/Captures Here!

Recommended Posts

fff2015_logo_a.jpg

This “FFF 2015 - Post Carp Entries Here!” thread is where you will officially post all of your photos of FFF 2014 carp captures.

1. The photos posted on this thread and only this thread will determine all Hall of Fame recipients (those who catch a carp by 6:00 a.m. on January 1) and all the winners of the fishing award categories (First Carp of 2015, Monster (Heaviest Carp), Baby (Smallest Carp), Emperor (Highest Total Weight), Prince (Highest Total Weight for a Junior of 17 years or under), and Scubadoc (Heaviest Mirror or Leather)).

2. Both the successful angler and the captured fish must be pictured in each photo/entry you submit. If you are fishing alone, you’ll need long arms for a “selfie” or a camera with a timer.

3. Please submit only one photo/entry per post. In other words, if you have 10 fish photos to submit, please submit them in 10 separate posts. This will keep your caption information concise and without confusion. You can make your posts at varied times if you wish, as long as they are all posted by 10:00 a.m. on January 6. Please be careful that you don't post duplicate entries of the same fish.

3. Please type within each photo’s post the following caption information:
A. Your name (first and last).
B. The weight of the captured carp in pounds and ounces. If it’s a mirror, let me know.
C. The time of the capture (when the carp was safely in the net). Please include the AM or PM designations when reporting time.

4. To provide further verification of the First Fish and Hall of Fame awards and to provide verification that all entered carp were caught on 1/1/15, I encourage you to use the time-stamp/date-stamp option on your camera when a photo of you and your fish is taken. Make sure the camera's date and time settings are accurate before you begin fishing.

However, if you don't activate the time/date-stamp, or if your camera doesn’t allow that option, your entry will still be accepted. This is CAG. We have faith in the honor system and we have faith in your honesty and integrity.

5. There are three ways to post a photo.
A - While creating your fish entry post, you can click on the “picture and frame” icon above the post window and paste the URL address of the photo.
B - You can usually copy and paste photos directly into your reply box from social media such as Facebook.
C - You can click on the “More Reply Options” box at the bottom of your reply box. This will take you to a reply screen that has an “Attach Files/Choose Files” button at the bottom. Click "Choose Files," and choose whatever photo you want to post from your computer files. (This option is fine, but it only allows those who are logged into the CAG forum to see your photos).

5. If you are having problems with the photo posting options, I will take your photo and caption information via e-mail and post the photo for you. However, you should know how to post photos on the forum, so please don’t abuse this option. E-mail me at fkrink@comcast.net or pm me. I'll need your e-mailed entries at least two hours before the January 6 deadline to allow me to process and post the pictures by 10:00 a.m.

6. Every and all fishing award entries must be posted on this thread by 10:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (that’s 9 AM Central, 8 AM Mountain, 7 AM Pacific) on Tuesday, January 6, 2015.

I'm not going to nag you about posting carp entries and posting them on time. That's your call and your responsibility.

In addition, there are those who may decide not to post when they see that their entry will be beaten by another. This FFF 2015 is transparent because all of us can see the entries on this thread in real time. Just keep in mind that there are 46 separate cash awards in addition to Hall of Fame designations. I am also sure that your fellow CAG members would love to see photos of your FFF 2015 results, no matter where you stand on the leaderboard.

I primarily volunteered to coordinate FFF so it wouldn't die and so anglers would have an opportunity to continue participation in this popular CAG event. The participation statistics and numbers comparisons to past and future years are all secondary and of little importance to me. If you post your FFF 2015 fish/photos, I thank you and appreciate your willingness to participate in the true spirit of the First Fishing Folly experience. If you opt not to post, that's your call. I respect your posting decision either way.

Please see the carp submission sample on the next post. Don't forget to register for FFF 2015 by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014. Registering much earlier than that, like right now, is always appreciated. Thanks.—Frank

Well, my young friend (Aidan Vickers) gave up (was sick), and as to me, I royally blanked for 3 hours and a half before finally deciding to get wiser, and go back to a warm place... Was a rather beautiful day though.

At minus 14 degree Celcius, there was no open water, so I did not try. Sorry.

My first and smallest of the day

Joey sitarski

1 lb 7 oz

Not sure of the exact time between 12pm and 1pm I think

Nice, Joey. By rule, I need you to post a more specific time to make the fish eligible for any awards: "3. The FFF Baby Award: Smallest carp caught during the FFF. The required picture of the angler holding the fish plus accompanying data (time, weight, angler’s name) must be submitted." Thanks.--Frank

FFF 2015 still has a few hours remaining. Tough, cold, windy weather had me home by noon, but I am sure there are some anglers still out there. You can post your entries here at any time as long as your posts are completed and on this thread by 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday, January 6.

To avoid confusion, I ask that you use a separate post for each fish you enter. Make sure you include your name, weight of fish, and time of catch for each post!

You need not make all your posts at the same time. In addition, don't get discouraged if you notice a weight/time/total that is better than yours. Keep in mind that there are three prizes per geographic zone in the fish weight categories and 13 cash prizes for the first 13 FFF captures of the year on the North American continent.

Nice catches posted so far. Good luck. I'll tally all the posts and share final results on Friday, January 9 on the results thread.

I hope you had an enjoyable FFF 2015.--Frank

I sent a text immediately after the fish was caught and that was at 12:35 pm. Hope that's good enough. Gilbert Huxley, Derek wunder and marshal burba were all witnesses

That's great. Thanks, Joey. I'll edit your original post to reflect the time of catch. --Frank

Nice catches Guys. Thanks for freezing your digits off to show us LOL. I backed out of the FFF yesterday. It was just way too cold with the wind chill and there are quite a few of you know I fish all winter

Thanks again DR Rink for running the show.
