A Real Beauty

Recommended Posts

I landed this carp today on Christmas eve while fishing some real mild, rainy weather here in New England. I can only describe this fish as a gorgeous mirror. While it wasn't big (4 lbs.), it more than made up for it in looks. It had a near smooth skinned body with light patches of pink. It had a beautiful row of perfect golden scales along its back. The tail had a bunch of small golden scales extending outward. Take a look at the fish and some of the highlights I photographed!

Beautiful scale patterns. Congrats on a nice fish under less-than-ideal conditions. After living up north, I can attest to nasty weather in the winter.

That's more like an artists rendition. The gold along the dorsal is stunning. Beautiful!

What a cracker. Should be easy to recognize when you catch it again.
