GA river carp moving at last!

Recommended Posts

After an absolutely dire February when I recorded the grand total of ZERO carp caught, zero runs...in fact not a sniff, it is nice to be able to report that the last few warm days seem to have got the carp moving. In my opinion, the river carp tend to be more active early season than those in lakes due to their need to keep swimming. So it was that a 4 hour one rod session ended with 11 carp landed for around 125lb. Nothing massive, but they were all in the 10-16lb range, which will do me fine!

For those living in the Atlanta area, I was fishing Sweetwater Creek, but I reckon your chances are going to be pretty good on any of the rivers this week, especially if we get some decent rain in the next couple of days.

Our waters are still froze, but are thawing...and it's actually raining out. Won't be long now. Great to see you're catching.
