Welcome aboard Martyn,

Not many members from Michigan in your area, but you have plenty of top notch fisheries not only in Michigan, but some of the best in the US.

The St Joe is a great river with lots of character, challenges and quality fish.

Our core group of Michiganders usually will wander over to your side of the state to fish the Holland area, Benton harbor, Muskegon and a few others from may through September ish.

Keep us all up to date on your ventures and tight lines!!

Andy

Hi Martyn, good to see another carp guy posting information on the CAG Forum- welcome!

I am a fellow ex-Pat from Newcastle and now live in Evanston, Il. I'm not familiar with any other carp guys in your immediate area but there are quite a few in the Detroit area and also further north in Holland. You should send a message to a member called Flycarpster- he fishes from kayak a lot and I'm sure would be interested in getting together to fish with you. Also, send me a PM or look me up on Facebook under my name.

Welcome to the group! Most of the core group of Michigan is located somewhere around Detroit. However there are a group of us that venture over to the west side on a decent basis.

Martyn,

There are three of us on this side of the state, You, myself, and Rich (Richypoo). The fishing is great as we have alot of public waters with nice well groomed parks as well as a TON of state owned land that is a bit more rustic, but just as enjoyable.

I am looking forward to touching base with you on some possible swim ideas so we can get together in the spring and haul some beautiful commons.

Martyn,

There has been a pretty good carp bite about an hour north of you, if you would like to give it a go this next week let me know. I will chum the swim up for you and we can have a go at it.

We also took a walk around a swim I have been watching for a while. Maybe we can make trips back and forth to try these swims out in a few weeks.
