Chili Recipe

  • 2 1/2 pounds beef
  • 4 cans of beans
  • 15 oz. can beef broth
  • 8 oz. can chicken broth
  • 8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. granulated onion
  • 1 Tbsp. granulated garlic
  • 1 Tbsp. pasilla chili powder
  • 4 Tbsp. Gebhardt chili powder
  • 3 Tbsp. California chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. New Mexico chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. cumin
  • 1 fresh minced Serrano chili pepper
  • 2 tsp. salt.

It's not that spicy really. The pasilla has only a small kick and the Serrano isn't too bad with seeds and ribs removed. My goal with chili is to make it so you could eat it all day long. Those different powders make a nice gravy if cooked properly.

I would like to personally thank everyone who braved the snow rain, ice and wind to make it out there. Conditions were tough and we only managed two catfish, but the company and the chilli Brian made were the real highlights of the day! See you all in a few weeks at the regionals!
