Any recommendations for lodging in the area?

There are plenty, Harras casino has a hotel which is 10ft from the venue.

Hollywood casino of Joliet has donated a $40 gift certificate for dinner as a prize for the 5 Bridges tournament on April 30th.

For the Anglers new to Joliet here are a couple of picture to show the bottom shape of the river in Joliet, as you can see there is really no structure except for the bridge pillars. Straight walls and flat bottom.

Confirmed today that pegs 7 and 8 are out of play for the 30th. Now the real question is, should I peg 9 and 10. As we know from last Fall the noise from the sandblasting equip. is outrageously load (right Corey?) In the picture below notice the barge position.

In the past three to four years, peg nine has placed in the "top three" more often than any other peg at the venue.  Peg 10 is iffy at best.  With the potential for noise and to, perhaps, even the field, my vote would be to eliminate 9-10.  Your call, of course, Larry.

I really hate to do this but do to the history of fish producing pegs I am hard capping the entry list to 16 anglers. So that would leave 3 open spots left as of now.

And due to the number of donations, EVERYONE will win something.

Never gave me a straight answer. She said she would ask someone and have an answer for me this week.

Who knew?  I discovered this carp mosaic art today on the base of the Spirit of the River sculpture at the Rte. 66 Park on North Broadway in Joliet.  Maybe it's an omen for a haulfest on April 30.  Let's hope so.  Good luck to all! --Frank

Dave, even if they gave us permission I think the angler who ended up with for south peg would have a huge advantage. I'm trying to keep the field somewhat equal.

An overcast day with highs in the 70s is great weather for the Five Bridges event.  Let's hope the forecast holds.  Best of luck to all!

I think that's a pretty sizable list of local supporters.

If this was your event what would you change if anything? I'm just trying to get ideas for the future.

Another thing, 5 Bridges will be held Hell or high water there will be no cancelation. Due to our supporters donating prizes ect. The upcoming summer, most weekends are full of other events, Holidays, family functions ect.  Changing the date would be almost impossible to all our anglers back to Joliet.

ALL prizes will be won on the 30th, even if for some reason we have 3 anglers, all the prizes will still be won.

Ok that's it for now, send or post me some ideas.

Looks great, Larry.  Thank you for your outstanding work with this! :yourock:

My only suggestion would be that you make sure all of us catch at least five decent carp each. :P --Frank

Well Tony It took you long enough for you to speak up. Was hoping you didn't forget about our conversation we had about 3 weeks ago. I was pretty lucky finding this guy.

You are now on the list, and I will personally pay $10 of your entry fee. And for you being a newbie, a newbie to Joliet maybe but remember you already told me about your carp fishing sessions. Watch out everyone he's trying to play us, LOL.

Welcome Tony,
