Was wondering about the spomb, I know it's for baiting an area, so if I use this to place bait in an area would I still need a pack bait or would a hook/boilie be good enough and just cast it in the area you were baiting....oh yea I've only been carping for a yr.

I think I'd still use a packbait. Better guarantee that your "hookbait" is right smack dab in the middle of it all. This doesn't necessarily rule out a plain hookbait/boilie from working. I just think it would increase the odds a bit.

 

Experiment with both scenarios and see which one works best on your water. That's part of the fun, right?
