FJR1
Thanks, Cesar. That's a good idea, as those thumbnails on the leaderboard are a bit small. I don't expect to seriously compete with you monster magnets in the NE and South, but I always get in CAG's Big 4 to support the organization and to have a little fun. There is much more to friendly competition than "one winner and a bunch of losers." More often than not, the journey, rather than the final result, is where the fun lies. I typically submit fish caught at a social event or tournament during the Big 4 "window of opportunity." I used to be able to compete in the first fish of the Big 4 event, but that category was dropped . It's not a 30+, but my biggest so far is a 24-3 caught during the Kewaunee International Carp Championship (well-run by Lee Young with 23 participants) in NE Wisconsin on May 6 (same venue as CAG's 2016 CCC). Smallest of my Big 4 is an 18-7 captured on May 2 at the same lake in which I participated in an enjoyable 10-angler fish-in hosted by Chad Bettisch the previous weekend in central Illinois. --Frank
(MO) MOCarper
Good idea!- explored a new creek swim today and low and behold, a 14-1, 13-6, then my sons 17-6, and finally my 21lbr!!......also caught a 6lb channel and lost a "double" trying to land the 13lbr...- felt as big but who knows, then lost another large fish in a root wad!!.......what a fabulous day and swim!!!!!!!!...so proud of my son- he led me as big fish for ~30 minutes!!.just startin to gear-up!- flooding and cold weather are over for a short bit, so getting as many carp as possible!- need to beat my fall mark of >600lbs!!!....back in top 10 but I think that's going to change soon..... :(......to many expert anglers here!!!!!......I'm switching to lake fishing soon.......good luck all!!...... FJR1
Larry Seeman's annual "5 Bridges Big 5 Carp Tournament" will be held this coming weekend, May 20, at the Rowing Lagoon in Lincoln Park, Chicago (tournament is full with 19 participants). Since the big Wisconsin weekend events allow fishing until the Wednesday afternoon prior to the tournament, I did a quick morning session at the lagoon on Wednesday, 5/17. I stayed away from the main pegged area and fished near the south end of the lagoon (a little concerned about weeds and moss for the 5/20 event). It got very windy at about 9:00 a.m. and the bite stopped, but earlier I did manage seven carp with the biggest three at 24-3, 20-0 (24-3/20-0 caught as a double), and 18-10 (submitted to CAG Big 4 leaderboard), plus an 8 lb. Northern on a boilie. --Frank24-3 20-0 18-10 8-0 Northern Pike

(MO) MOCarper
Very Nice Frank!!!- good job!!........I switched to lakes tonight-been chumming 2 lakes for the past 4 evening and started with this one-first time fishing it............try as I might I simply cant catch carp on a hair rig- I have a TOTAL of 2 EVER!!.....tried again tonight with a method feeder and a Korda hair rig with #4 Korda krank hook and 3 pieces of sweet corn- though I had hits and 1 run, I couldn't hook the fish........so......went back to my creek rigs and BOOM!- one of my best carp nights ever, in terms of size- 5 fish totaling ~80 lbs!!!........the largest of which, unfortunately did not fight well...maybe just an exhausted female spawner?........good luck everyone!- taking my son to this new swim....started with a 16-2, 12-13, 10-13, 17-7 and this nice 18-10oz!!!..................Missouri's coming!!!! (MO) MOCarper
....and it continued last night-difficult to fish between storms.....all the creeks and rivers are flooded, and this swim was about 6" higher than yesterday, though it is a huge lake!.....started slow, but by nightfall, had to go to one rod- couldn't keep up with the hits........several nice channel cats, but the real story was the fish!!- in two nights now, have caught 9 commons and only one less than 12 lbs!....Last night 16-7, 17-1, 19-0 and 20-6!!!.......Was able to get out just before another round of storms...... Fontona19
Interesting fish from today. Eye sockets weren't totally sealed. It's eyes seemed intact and could see through smaller aperture.

(MO) MOCarper
Here's a nice fish from the same swim as the 33lbr-this one was a heck of a fight at 1:00am...- snagged, rocks, runs, etc........17lb 2oz pretty little fellow...............My pictures all look the same like Vince's, but here's what usually happens just to get to the selfie!!!....may try to break 1,000lbs in carp by the end of the CAG Big four!!! (MO) MOCarper
....and last night's only fish at the new swim- has developmental "microphthalmia"- smaller than normal eyes, eye orbits and deformity to the face- swam normal, etc.....seems this swim will give up just one/couple of fish at a time!.............though the picture may say a 30lbr, it was just over 20........20lb 3 oz.........simply a massive tail for a lake fish, IME......
