FFF 2020 First Carp and FFF 2020 Hall of Fame Awards

It is with a heavy heart that I announce FFF 2020 awards.  As many of you know, Frank Aiello passed away on January 1.  That sadness is tempered, somewhat, by the joy and celebration of Frank’s legacy of his carp angling enthusiasm, of his willingness to share and teach younger and more inexperienced anglers, and of the friendships he nurtured and forged through his carping adventures.  For that reason, I dedicate FFF 2020 to Frank Aiello’s memory!  Rest in peace, Frank.

Sincere thanks to the nearly 50 CAG members who registered for First Fishing Folly 2020 (FFF 2020).  Big thanks to the Carp Anglers Group for sponsoring the event for the past 17 years!

Congratulations to the fourteen anglers who submitted entries for FFF 2020.  Eighty-six carp were entered weighing in at 733 pounds, 11 ounces.

Through the next several days, I will be posting announcements of winners and certificates of achievement.  If winners find errors or need a certificate revised, just let me know.  Congratulations to all and thanks for your involvement in CAG and in the annual First Fishing Folly.  We hope to see you in 2021! —Dr. Frank Rink, Coordinator-FFF 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020

The FFF Sunrise Award goes to every FFF 2020 registrant who submits a photograph of the first sunrise of the year. The primary intention of this category is to share some fabulous January 1 photos with fellow CAG anglers.  In fact, if it’s too foggy, cloudy, snowy, or rainy, you can still take a picture at the approximate time of sunrise.  The picture may or may not include a fish.  Anyone submitting a sunrise picture earns an FFF 2020 Sunrise downloadable, frameable certificate.

The FFF 2020 Jerome Adventure Tale Award. Many of you have submitted interesting FFF summaries with accompanying photos in the past.  In honor of Jerome Moisand's quick wit, photography skills, way with words, and dedication to CAG and FFF, we are, again, including a prize category for the best written summaries with photographs of your 2020 FFF adventure.

Some Special Awards
For her participation in FFF 2020, for getting out there when she was ill, for her charitable contributions following the passing of Frank Aiello, and for her capture and photo of a "ghost carp," Amy Demrovsky of Colorado receives a special "FFF 2020 Ghost Carp Award."  Thanks, Amy!

For his heartfelt sharing of the events surrounding the passing of Frank Aiello and for his willingness to bare his emotions with stirring literary skills, Josh Iverson is awarded the "FFF 2020 From the Heart Award."  Thanks, Josh!
