Mirror Carp

I am really into the Mirror Carp - I think they are an awesome looking fish and they are pretty shy from my rods. Think that adds to the reasoning. So with that said - lets see some of those beauties. How about some shots that haven't been posted before or even shots of those small but great looking fish.

Had to post this one for Mark Metzger. His home water. 1st one he had seen come out of the Tidal Basin I believe. :D Not the best mirror I have caught, but likely one of the best photos of one that I have with the Jefferson Memorial in the background :D

Guess I'll start it - a rare Belle Grove Pond Carp - 1/100 or so odds that was a birthday present last year :D . I actually defied the odds that week - had 3 in a row with the first coming as my first dc fish (again beating the odds).

I caught this one during an online fishing comp at globalfisher.com

:D

The pond is small enough that I can cast across the whole thing. I went there one day with my wife and 3YO to feed the ducks. After the bread was thrown onto the water, I heard the familiar kiss sound, then saw some golden flashes stealing the bread. I turned to Cameron and said, "Guess what you and Daddy are doing tommorrow". This mirror came on a later trip and is still in Alan Saxe Park, ready to dance with anyone else.

Please remember Milano Paul has the advantage of fishing in England where mirrors abound.

I have had mirrors from the Tidal Basin, Towne Lake and two different ones from Fremont. There are another couple of mirrors I know of in CA (at least two down south and one up my way). Of course I could hit a lake some 800 miles away that only has mirrors but it is a bit chilly up that way now.

Pictures of my US mirrors this evening if I get a chance

Just remembered on of the Fremont mirrors is on DVD/VCR so no pictures of that one.
