  1. not a mekong but a sharp tooth cat . it was caught a few years back in a net , thats why its not record . but still a big fish none the less. I never get tired of seeing that photo . :)Once heard rumor they have eaten small children , quite the viscious meat eater .

    Im pretty sure it is a Mekong Catfish.

  2. i dont think bullheads are "venomous" but other tiny catfish are. :D

    Margined Madtom Noturus insignis

    In Pennsylvania there are six madtom species. Some are rare, like the mountain, brindled, tadpole and northern madtoms. The margined madtom of eastern Pennsylvania is widely distributed and abundant. Madtoms have poison glands at the base of their pectoral spines. If handled improperly, they can give a sting as painful as a bee sting.

    Yeah i have been stung by one of those! I had no idea what happened but it hurt pretty bad and it came from a catfish smaller then a minnow!
