  1. Happy to see you participate, Robert. Welcome!

Turn outs like this lol we need Jackson Street... Great turn out guys see ya in the morning

There are now fourteen (and maybe 15) participants for the October 12 two-tournaments-in-one-day "Welcome to Fall" event.

    1. Walter Wheeler

    2. Frank Rink

    3. Cory Bohmann

    4. Fred Rhodes

    5. Jim Rink

    6. Robert Kraft

    7. Christine Stout

    8. Tony Stout

    9. Chad Bettisch

    10. Dennis Davis

    11. Joe Kalina

    12. Tony Sladek

    13. Jim Reynolds

    14. Mike Olinger (maybe)

    15. Possible additional angler

Peg choice is at 6:00 a.m. at pegs 6-7 at the Bicentennial Park lot (just south of Jefferson St.). If you are not there at 6:00., you can still participate, but your peg choices will not be optimal.

    Don't forget . . .

    1. The Jefferson St. bridge is closed. You will have to drive back to Bridge/Jackson St. to get to the east side.

    2. Both a.m. amd p.m. peg choices will be made at 6:00 a.m. P.M. choices will be in reverse order of a.m. choices.

    3. You can go directly to your p.m. peg after the a.m. session. Scorecards will include both the a.m. and p.m. contests, so you can turn in everything at 5:00 p.m.

    4. There will be a full hour between tournaments. For lunch, Wendy's is just west of the venue and there are several places on the east side.

    5. The 5:00 p.m. awards will be at peg 6-7 in the parking lot.

    6. Three rods are allowed, but that doesn't mean you have to fish with three rods if you prefer to use fewer.

Best of luck! See you tomorrow. --Frank

  2. OK, boys and girls. Here is another update.

Who ever called... You seen it before we gonna keep rolling go spy another fourm..... Thanks again frank ;-)

After asking the Bicentennial Park people more questions, as suggested by several of you, here is what I learned:

    1. Someone had called their office about the event. They would not tell me who called, but I bet I could guess.

    2. I was informed that the insurance requirement is being enforced more stringently due to changes in city management.

    3. A certificate of insurance is required for an event being held anywhere on Joliet property--not just Bicentennial Park.

Being one who wants to fully comply with whatever requirements are necessary, I did some research on million dollar liability policies for events and contacted several companies that provide such policies.

I was able to apply for and receive the required policy at a fairly reasonable cost. Fortunately, I walked into the Bicentennial Park office ten minutes before the deadline and received permission to conduct tournaments on October 12, November 2, November 30, and December 14.

Consequently, we are back to our full 24 pegs for the October 12 event. We will meet back at pegs 6-7 of Bicentennial Park at 6:00 a.m. The only down-side is that I will have to take one entry fee for each event ($15) and deduct it from the prize package to help me pay for the cost of the insurance policy. Hopefully, that small deduction will not dissuade you from attending. Good luck to all. There is still room for a few more. See you Saturday. --Frank

  3. go for it Jim I'm right behind ya

In honor of the best carp event organizer and the greatest brother in the world (my brother Frank) I'd like to pay for the insurance policy Frank purchased for these events. By paying the policy premium... Frank can include all entry fees in the payouts for each event. My plan is to win the October 12th event...receiving the 1st place payout. Do you agree with my plan, 911 and bailybird...especially the winning part?

    Jim Rink
