I think I would be looking over my shoulder every few minutes to see whose bait I may be. Gators are all over the SE as are water moccasins. When I was a kid my dad took to to the Wally Tabor show. Older folks might remember him. He had a movie of good old boys hunting water moccasins at night in a swamp. They would reach in tree stumps and feel around for a snake and then pull them out. That was nuts!

My wife met me at the lake today with my kids Kristin and Connor. Kristin is 6 and Connor is 4. We had a good time catching 8 carp with the biggest in the picture. It was 21lbs 10oz. Kristin wanted to hold it, but after touching it, the girlie girl in her came out and she said no way. Afterwards they congratulated each other on what great fisherman they were. ( I thought I did all the work!) Most of the day they thought they were on vacation asking mom for snacks and drinks. They were also telling me to catch fish. While the demands of a 4 and 6 year old can get out of hand, this is one of those moments that I will remember for as long as I live.

Nice Buff Louis. They can drive you crazy just pecking at the bait. I have gone to trying to set the hook after awhile. I have had some success that way.

I will be taking my kids fishing this friday. I have a feeling I will have some of the same problems!

Great videos of fun with you daughter. I will be doing the same with my son and daughter as soon as it warms up. My 4 year old son told me this morning he wants to go fishing and he wants to fish for whales!

Alex at Royal Carp.com has some inexpensive ones. He uses them all the time and they work quite well. I have Micron MMX's and I like them. Had some problems with them though.

I never caught a goose but I have caught a few pelicans and sea gulls. Come to think of it I caught some big turtles as well. Nice story Jerome.
