Yeah, anytime....thanks for that phone call champ!
Here's how it went down:
"Man, fish are bitin' today! I should call Ryan and see if he's done. On second thought, minnows are runnin' low and the shops aren't open today."

Gee....Thanks

Sweet...are you going to have it mounted?

I wonder, at what point do you consider fish like these to be fully scaled mirrors?
-
I had one like that at Alum last year, I was going to take a picture. Felt bad for him so I let him go right away.

...but no Ohio license required, so doesn't that make it a wash?
No Ohio license is required at a paylake either.

Congrats on the fish and also STATE CAG RECORD. This is your year and Ohio is a very strange state for carp. Its seems like there getting harder and harder to find that size and you did it. Again Congrats
I was not aware that CAG considered fish from paylakes to be "records"?
If the state of Ohio will not recognize a fish from Pinehill as a Fish Ohio because they consider it a paylake, then why does CAG? If someone goes to an Ohio paylake and pulls out a 40, would that be considered an Ohio CAG record?
You do still have to pay to fish Pinehill, right?

Is there a limited number of spots available?

Kent
That's a fine fish.......and also a mighty fine shirt to be wearing for carp fishing!
Congrats.
Iain.
lol...shirt? Have you seen "Wild Hogs"?

That's pretty cool...
I don't think carp make beds, I think they just roll around on each other(sounds slightly familiar ) and the fertilized eggs kling on to something.

Why not post when you actually have the picture?

If you see them crusing early in the year, chances are that they are preparing to spawn and have other things on their minds. It is usually a few males chasing around a larger female. I've seen this happen in a river near by with two smaller males chasing a larger mirror up and down the bank. I walked right up to them(they were that close to shore) and looked down on them and they paid no attention to me.

As soon as the ice melted....
You might not catch right away, but at least get the bait in the water.

Just over a 20lb average. That's pretty good!

So, who's Bob? What's this about a van? A bird?
Was that a photo shop walleye?
I went from not knowing what to say, when I read the "bad" news. To watching what I say when I read all this mess....
Every kid tells a story....when they're under 12.....but this tops all of them and not in a good way.

I tied a knotless on a large gama octopus hook and tied several other knots on the same size/style hook with the same lb leader material. The knotless never pulled or broke. The palomar, loop and a couple other knots all pulled. The line even broke a couple times.
Knotless won all my independant tests
