i also fished in the beginning without alarms. once i got my alarms, i can't do without them.
in my opinion, you have to have alarms. especially when night fishing, doing overnighters.
it just makes the session easier.

i dont have any tools for making flies, as i fish for carp, the traditional way.

if your looking into eurogear, and want to fish "traditional" carpfishing, 125 dollars will get you nowhere. you figure a good rod will cost 125.
this is a very very expensive sport. i have tons of gear, and recently spent nearly $2000 on more stuff.
you can keep it basic, but it starts to add up. but i love it. i love the gadgets, the baits, everything about carp fishing. passion!

those are some nice slabs of carp right there

2.75 tc here and i can throw pva or any heavy lead with it.
my fox 2.75 is more comfortable and better to fish with than my shimano 3 tc.

i agree, give the corn a rest. switch it up. a lake by me, if you use sweet corn, you can bivvy up for days and days and not get a bite.
try some boilies, tiger nuts, potato's, freeline some cornmeal dough or a nightcrawler as well, bread
