Oxquo,
I like your observations, I am just heading out the door for a spot I fished 2 weeks ago. At that time it was stinking hot, I chummed for 2 days before, saw 100's of fish hanging around the nearshore flats, it was flat calm on the bay, fished it for 2 days and guess what - Not a bite!!
This morning I am planning to hit the same spot in about 1/2 hour (waiting for my fishing partner, my 13-yr old daughter to get out of the bathroom). Today and for the last week it has been a lot cooler, we have a strong NW wind today.
I was down there about 3 hours ago, chummed the spot (not worried about other fisherman, access to the swim is on company property and the general public have no access) and there is a steady chop on the bay and it is bright and sunny.
The cool weather has slowed down the spawn, still lots of pre-spawn fish hanging around the bay. Hoping they get their spawn over with before we have the CAGI on Hamilton Harbour, Ontario on June 24.
I will make sure to post my results from today.
cheers
Rick

Adding my name to the growing list of members here in Ontario.
I took up carp fishing 3 years ago, introduced to the sport by an avid carper.
Have recently joined a gang of us here in Hamilton Harbour that get out together on a regular basis.
It now has me as well as my family hooked.

Hey T.Barry
just getting ready for fly fishing here in hamilton harbour
water temp is coming up - now at 14C - BUT for some reason my best spot has a heavy red clay silt plume - got to sight fish them
we did get rain last night - but I don't think heavy enought to cause this level of silt or maybe I missed it last night while asleep
attached a last summer highlight fly fish catch
should have pics soon
cheers
